Upon hearing her name, Mimi turned swiftly only to see Tife approaching her with a wide smile. She closed the door of the car and walked to Tife with a smile on her face; one that wasn't genuine but she to conceal the fact that she wasn't happy.
"Where did you go? I've been here since morning," Tife started and Mimi brought out her jotter from her pocket
I went for therapy
"Oh," Tife mouthed and Mimi bobbed her head.
"Anyway, you know exams is starting on Monday, so, I'm here to study with Christian, you know I told you we always study together, so, go and get dressed and join us."
Mimi cast her a questioning look and Tife shrugged, "Let's go," she dragged Mimi into the house, cross legs while seated on the chair and watched Kiki change into a yellow flare gown.
"Oya, pick your books, we have English, Economics and Yoruba on Monday," she instructed and Mimi eyed her before doing as instructed.
Mimi wondered where Fara and Lola could have gone to as she'd only seen Lara reading her books before they left for the mansion.
"Ehn, Christian told me Alex mentioned you to be his girlfriend, when did that one start?" She queried with lifted brows and they both halted their walk.
Mimi blinked her eyes before scribbling down:
He was only joking
Tife chuckled, "What kind of joke is that one? Alex of all persons, that one that use to behave like a ghost, nobody even knows about his existence, what even brought about the joke? When did you guys became close to the extent of him making that kind of joke?"
Mimi smiled at the way the words rushed out of Tife's mouth in obvious annoyance, it crystal clear she cared for her. She placed her jotter on her laps to write:
No need to worry it was an harmless joke, you know we were partnered during our painting and decorating, we got close then but nothing more.
Tife sighed, "Better, what sort of rubbish is that one? Thank goodness Christian randomly mentioned it to me, see, if he should turn that joke to something else, tell me oo, because quiet people like him ehn, they're always something," she said and Mimi grinned before writing:
I will, don't worry.
"Better, let's go," Tife said before taking a step and Mimi nodded as she followed her while her mind went to all her encounters with Alex, he was bad news but then she didn't like worrying other people, she preferred keeping everything to herself.
Mimi didn't know when they got to the entrance of Christian's room, it wasn't until the door was flung open by him did she realize, she had been in thoughts since.
Christian raised his brows at Tife as they walked into his room.
"I thought you left already," Christian started and Tife wagged her index finger.
"Mimi is having big problems with her studies, she practically failed all her tests and I want you to tutor her," Tife started as she slumped on his bed while Mimi sat on the chaise lounge.
Christian glanced at Mimi before answering, "Why should I do that? Do I look like a tutor."
"Because I'm asking you for a favour as your favorite cousin," she raised her head and rested it on her palm while Christian chuckled as he sat on his chair.
"Who told you you're my favorite cousin?"
Tife pursed her lips, "Who else would it be if not me, Mirabel?" She jeered and Christian chortled.
