Mimi tried remembering where she misplaced the book. Of all things she had to misplace that book, she'd taken her time and prepared two days back to write out everything, she decided it was time to let out everything, her mother, siblings and friends deserved to know and if she wanted an improvement, she needed it though she believed being mute was a punishment because she kept quiet about her dad's deeds but then she had to let it all out, she needed refreshments and a new life.

While writing it, the buried memories came back afresh and she wrote it in tears while Fara slept soundly. She spent the whole night writing it 'cause she stopped several times to catch her breath or cry and now the book was no where to be found, for goodness sake, could she be punished less?

Dropping her bag on her chair, she searched her locker, went to the dance studio locker room, the football locker room and many places she'd visited in the past two days but the book was no where to be found.

Going back into the class, they didn't have any class that day so far they'd just ended their mid term tests few days back, it was a Friday and the day of her presentation. Presentation, presentation, that word reminded her she went to Christian's place for rehearsal, did she forget it at his place?

Her eyes went over to Christian's seat that instant but he wasn't there neither were his friends. She heaved before sitting on her chair.

"Mimi," a voice, no, two voices she could recognise anywhere to be her friends, okay, they were practically no longer friends or were they? They didn't speak for two whole weeks.

She looked up to meet the apologetic looks of Tife and Dera, raising her brows at them, she wondered why they just decided to talk to her, did Christian tell them the content of the book?

"Mimi, we are so sorry, we thought you would tell us if we did this but it proved to be futile," Tife started as she made to hold Mimi's hand.

"And now we just released we were being selfish, we should have been patient with you, we know you'll surely tell us one day," Dera added before holding her hand too.

Mimi stared at them in surprise. What made them change their mind?

"We are so sorry, we'll wait for you to tell us one day, can you forgive us now?" They both said in unison and Mimi wondered if they rehearsed it.

She stared at them for some minutes before her face broke into a grin, standing up, she enveloped them in a hug, there was no way she could stay angry at them.

"We missed you," Tife and Dera confessed while Mimi nodded. How she so much missed them too? Life without them had been more than boring.

The entrance of Miss Miracle made them break their hug, after the normal exchange of pleasantries, she began.

"Your tests results are out, I'll be pasting it on the notice board now, check your stand and make adjustments, I'll be back later for your presentation," she walked to the board and pasted the results has she mentioned, immediately she left the class, students rushed to the notice board, Mimi didn't bother going likewise Dera who knew she would either be last place or second to the last, so, instead of stressing her legs to the notice board, she went on explaining the happenings in their lives for that missed two weeks to Mimi.

Mimi who wanted to go to Christian and ask him about the book had no other choice than to stay and listen to Dera.

"Dera, you came second," Tife announced and Mimi narrowed her eyes.

"Ehn? What did you say?" Dera queried as Tife sat down.

Tife chuckled, "Can you even believe it if you actually came second, you're second from the bottom."
