Harry was pissed. He couldn’t find the rider, and no cameras had caught the incident either. It had been two days since the shr had killed the man. Not like the man was innocent either. He was a well-known loan shark that the LAPD had been trying to bring down for years. Guess he should thank the rider, but that didn’t vindicate her from her actions. They didn’t know who this female rider was, or what reason she had for killing him.

Kane dropped into the seat beside him and he groaned.

“What’s got your panties in a twist?” Kane asked.

He was always in a good mood. His smiley face was beginning to grate on his nerves. Harry ignored him and stared straight ahead.

Kane snickered at Harry's serious expression, “Alright then, guess I would just have to keep the news of Salanos to myself,” he said and got up, but Harry pulled him back down.

“Kane, my man, I didn’t see you there,” Harry said grinning.

“Oh, so I am too small to be noticed,” Kane said annoyed.

“No. I didn’t mean it that way. I was …”

“Chill dude, I’m just messing with ya,” Kane said laughing. Harry glared but didn’t say anything, there was plenty of time to be angry after he had gotten the information.

Diana strutted past them, “Hi Harry,” she said with a flirtatious smile.

“Hi,” he replied but kept his gaze on Kane. Her face fell and she walked away.

“You could at least smile at her,” Kane said disapprovingly.

Harry sighed and looked at Diana. She was in the forensics department and she had been in love with Harry for the longest time. With doe brown eyes and hair and a nice figure, she was really pretty, but he wasn’t interested. Never had been.

“You look pretty today Diana,” he said and bared his teeth in a smile.

“Thank you,” she said with a bright smile and finally left them.

“Dude, you look like you are in pain, please stop smiling.”

“Just tell me what you want to tell me!” Harry snapped. He looked around his desk space and back at Kane.

“A tip. Malcolm is going to be at Morgan’s party.”

“Morgan? But he is just a club owner.”

Kane gave him a bland look, “Can I continue? Or are you gonna keep interrupting me?”

“Sorry, continue.”

“As I was saying, Morgan isn’t just any club owner, he is an influential club owner, and he is hosting a party this evening in his club, but its invite only. Malcolm will be there to sell …”

“So how are we supposed to get in?”

Kane gritted his teeth in anger, “If you’d just shut up and let me finish! As I was saying, they are gonna have a live band and you can hijack that,” Kane said pleased with himself for coming up with such a brilliant plan.

“Sounds plausible,” Harry said, “But I don’t think I will be hijacking anything, its against the rules. I’ll figure something out.”

Jack looked down at the dancing crowd. Leaning her elbows on the railing, she looked at the exit. Jose stood by the bar looking inconspicuous. Angela was dancing among the crowd, but her eyes were trained on their target.

John Rickman. Son of the mayor. They weren’t there to kill him, just scare him.

Of course he would know it was them, which was what she wanted. And when he went back to report to his father, she would get what she wanted. She hated to be a party pooper, but this was the only place she could get him without his bodyguards surrounding him.

Rickman had come because Dimitri had made Morgan invite him personally, and the drugs were too tempting to pass up. Rickman was a drug addict, a stone-cold coke head, and Morgan sold the best pure untainted cocaine supplied by yours truly. Just then she noticed about five men enter the building. Through the dim lighting of the club, she was able to make out Harrys figure walk to the bar and stand beside Jose.

Jack groaned, why did he always have to pop up everywhere she was. She didn’t know who was informing the cops of her movements, but when she found the person, she was going to tear him apart limb by limb. Harry ordered a drink, but she could tell that he was quizzing Jose and the bartender. Jose could handle himself, she knew he wouldn’t say anything.

The bartender shook his head and went to attend to another person, and Jack smiled. She would make sure he got a raise.

The cops blended in well, and they were asking questions. Harry had turned to start a conversation with Jose.

Well, time to stop playing. Jack looked down and caught Angy’s eye and nodded. Angela nodded back and danced over to Rickman. A girl was grinding on him, and his eyes were closed in pleasure. Angy pulled her gun from her thigh holster and shot his right leg. He screamed and fell. The girl screamed also but no one noticed, the music was too loud. So she shot into the air twice.

The music abruptly stopped, and people scattered. It was utter chaos, people trampling on each other trying to get out. Jack saw Rickman’s guards and the cops move towards the scene.

“Everyone leave!” Jack said into her earpiece. Angela had already disappeared into the throng leaving the club. Jose had disappeared also.

She saw Harry rush over to help Rickman. And as if by some weird mojo, he glanced up at her. Jack held his gaze for a moment and pushed away from the railing. She walked slowly through the secret exit Morgan had made for himself to the back alley and strapped on her helmet. She could see the cop cars from where she stood in the alley.

“Boss, where are you?” Jose’s voice sounded through the earpiece.

“You guys go ahead. I'll distract them and we’ll meet up back at the house.”

She switched on her bike and the engine roared to life. But instead of going through the other end, she went towards the police cars. She stopped before them and shot a tyre before zooming off. They didn’t waste time in following her, Harry's car in the lead, their sirens blaring loudly.

Jack didn’t look back as she maneuvered her way between cars, but they were still hot on her trail. She hopped onto sidewalks, her hands gripping the throttle tightly.

“Find me the most traffic congested freeway, now!” she yelled as she sped between intersections.

“Turn on your right,” Lucas voice sounded through the earpiece. She turned so hard that she almost scraped her knee against the tarred road, cutting between two oncoming cars. The road led her onto interstate 405, which connects north and south LA. She was easily able to lose them in the traffic as they couldn’t pass between cars like she did.

Harry slammed his fists against his steering. He snatched up his radio, “I want units working every street, overpass and exit within a five-mile radius. Dispatch all units!” He dropped the radio and reversed taking a detour.

Jack sighed in relief when the sirens became faint in the distance. She didn’t know how many sideview mirrors she had broken in her haste to get away.

“There is a roadblock just ahead of you Jack,” Lucas said. Pulling out of the freeway, Jack slowed as she spotted the police cars blocking the road from a distance.

Oh no!

She moved her left foot off the peg and placed it on the ground as she stopped and stared at them. The cops all had their guns pointed at her, and they were crouched behind their car doors. About twenty of them.

Jacks heart thudded in her chest as she stared through the tinted glasses of her helmet. She was breathing hard.

How was she going to get out of this?
