Levi's POV
Interacting with them was as bad as I thought it would be. Honestly, it seemed like I was a different person. Cleaning up after their mess wasn't the only thing I helped with. According to the other two women here, they had homework from university and was struggling to juggle their work and keeping the kids occupied.
May it be from watching them- preventing them from wrecking chaos that won my love to them. Their homework were already completed for classes to start on Monday. Able to stay up later than usual to watch TV. But first... their baths were needed.
One after one, my whole uniform got soaked badly with so much water and soap... thankfully I had a change of clothes in the back of my car. Permission was granted for me to shower here by those two women. Honestly... this wrought up so much memories...
"Hey- don't touch that!" I scowled as I pushed a wandering hand away from the stove. "You'll burn yourself. I'm in no mood for you to go to the hospital if you get burned. And also- not on my watch."
"S-Sorry..." It was that brat, Eren, whose hand was wandering around. "I was hungry..."
His tone was full of sorrow. "Eren, dinner won't be done for another 2 minutes." I say to him as I mixed around the macaroni and cheese in its pot. "Where do you guys want to eat this? And get the others to get their bowls to me. Hold onto your spoons."
Eren ran off to the other kids, giving word of what I said. In no time, they scrambled to get their bowls and spoons- waiting in line next to me. A few more stirs and I turned the stove off. Steam was being emitted from the hot meal. To the side, I grabbed a ladle and started to scoop up a spoonful of their favorite meal. Plopped into their bowl, I gave them a reasonable amount- both small and equal so everyone can get dinner.
I expected them to be sitting at the table- such a fool I was. They took their seat in front of the TV, eating slowly, but surely. I chuckled, serving myself a bowl and sitting with them.
"Don't you dare drop a single noodle. I'll have you clean it all up."
"Okay!" They shouted in unison, continuing to watch their cartoonish shows and movies.
At least they were trained enough to know how to wash their bowls and spoons... they neatly put that on the dish-drain before heading back to the TV. They were even kind to take my dishes as well. I've never seen that with other people's children... these were... special ones. I wonder if they're just doing that to please me or something like that.
Time was ticking away as the clock soon turned 10 pm. Yawns were all spreading like a disease to all the kids. Even I was beginning to get exhausted just by watching these kids. Just to take a break... I sat down on the couch in front of the TV. My eyes fluttered gently... but I never expected to actually fall asleep.

Hanji's POV
"Thanks for tonight, Erwin." I smiled, pecking him a kiss before he drove off. "Honestly, I needed that. After everything... I'm serious, that date was completely... what I needed."
He chuckled, waiting for me to walk inside the building before driving off. "Not like this date wasn't planned or anything," I couldn't help but chuckle at his slight humor, "but I'm glad you liked it. Guess it's time to say goodbye then."
Watching his eyes dart to the car that belonged to Levi... "What's wrong?"
"Whose car is that?"
"Oh- Levi's."
"Who now?"
Erwin's eyebrows rose in confusion- almost like he was filled with jealousy. Thankfully, I waved it off. If I tell him he was an officer watching the kids, he'll freak out and will figure out ways to get him out without a reasonable cause. Knowing him and the outcome... I would just be stressed over the situation much more than I was now.
"Hanji-"
"A friend who decided to help watch the kids. Nanaba was feeling a bit stressed out between the kids and her work at university. Thought that her having a bit of help with the kids would help relieve it. I haven't received any emergency notification from her... I think things worked out great. Don't fret over it."
He sighed heavily, giving a nod of his head. "Alright then. See you when I can, Hanji."
"Goodbye." I say, walking into the building. As I turned around, I saw his car passing by. I couldn't help but sigh of disappointment when I watched it go.
Returning my attention to the orphanage, I realized something: it was too quiet. Curiously, I explored the whole entire floor. I found the kids- sleeping silently on Levi. A few kids were sleeping on the ground, but... Levi...
Eren was tucked between Levi's arm and his torso. Mikasa was sleeping on his chest while Armin was snuggled between the couch and Levi's body. A few sleeping on his legs, but that was it. He was still- not moving one bit. Honestly... I was stunned to see all of them react to him like that. Almost like a calling to me, I took my phone out and snapped a picture. Actually, I took a few.
Not a single plate was in the sink- all neatly washed and put away. Thinking about it again, those kids were dressed in their pajamas without any stains from their dinner. What did they have for dinner? Most importantly... where was Nanaba and Rico? They were here earlier... where did they run off to?
Locking the doors shut and ensure the windows were closed, I couldn't help but continue watching this interesting pose with Levi and the kids. When it came to Erwin, no one would really accept him. It would've been Armin that approved of him, but no one else. Something about Levi...
"Ah, you're back?" My head spun sharply to meet Nanaba walking down the stairs as she rubbed her eyes. "You were a bit late than usual..."
"Caught up talking during the date. I felt like... I needed to let my stress loose to him. I feel much better now. Say, what happened?"
Nanaba chuckled as she looked at the couch. "He's that good with the kids, Hanji. What else can I say? I mean, he was a natural. When I dealt with the kids, they were a bit rebellious. But with him... I can't explain it. What I can say is that they're completely desperate to make friends with Levi so quickly... especially Eren."
"I think Eren sees him as a fatherly figure." I say, sliding my purse off my shoulder and onto the table. "That's what I think... at least..."
"I was joking about you and Levi getting together to please the kids... if I had a thing for Levi, I would date him in a heartbeat. But it seems... ah, never mind. Go shower and sleep. You would want to see how they are in the morning. Especially Levi."
"Why would you say that?"
I chuckled slightly as I was trying to hold back a yawn. Nanaba soon replied, "So Levi can see that all the kids slept on him throughout the whole night. Can you imagine how you would feel if the kids did that to you? You'll see his reaction first thing in the morning."
"That... would be interesting."
