For the whole rest of the day I was filled with joy. I couldn't stop thinking about Ryder.
Was this real, or was it all a dream?
I flopped down onto my bed in happiness. I got under the sheets and gripped the sheets tightly with a smile glued to my face.
After all these years, Ryder was finally mine.
...
The next morning at breakfast was the same. I couldn't stop smiling, Pansy was eager to find out why I was smiling so much.
"I've never seen you smile so much before," She picks up a butter knife and starts to butter her bread, "Something must be up."
"I told you Pansy, I'll tell you later," I sipped some juice out of a silver goblet, "I can't tell you with thousands of people around. Someone could hear us."
"Hey darling," I heard Ryder's soft voice from behind me. I looked at Pansy with a sly smile. Her mouth was open, then she smiled.
"Hey," I stood up from out of my seat to hug him, "How are you?"
"I fine now," He kisses my forehead, "You?"
"Good," I wrapped my arms around his torso and nuzzled my head into his chest.
All of the sudden someone bumped into us. It was Tom. He had a book in his hand. It was opened. The pages were filled with words.
"The great hall isn't the best place to make out," He said not looking up at us.
"You have a problem Riddle," Ryder furrowed his eyebrows.
"Yes, I do," He looked up at us and slammed his book shut, "You're in the way. Now if you excuse me," He walks around us and sits down not that many seats away from us.
"Well, I'll see you later Vic," He leaves a kiss on my check, causing my cheeks to turn light pink. He walks away with a smile on his face. I sat down next to Pansy and smiled.
"You didn't tell me that you guys were dating," She wraps her arms around me, leaving me in shock, "You should've told me sooner."
"Yeah," I nodded, "I was gonna tell you, until Ryder interrupted."
"So...you and him are official?" She asked.
"I guess so," I shrugged my shoulders, "Considering that he hugged and kissed me in front of the whole school."
"Congratulations," She smiles.
"Thanks Pansy," I smiled back.
...
October.
The best time of the year and the prettiest time of the year. Leaves that were multiple colors covered the ground.
The wind took leaves with them as they would fall gently onto the ground.
I set off into the woods with my hair up in a messy bun and a dark green cardigan sweater with a black shirt under it.
I sat on the dry ground. The ground isn't usually dry during this time of the year. It's always damp and muddy.
Every October I came into the woods and would just sit there. My mom died in October and that's why I came down here so often.
The woods reminded me out her. We used to take hikes once every summer and occasionally one in the fall.
I missed those days.
...
"Do we have any homework?" My friend Angelina asks me while we sat in the back of the bus.
