I did nothing for the next few days. Most of the time I would stay in my dorm, reading a book or taking a nap. Or often dosing into my thoughts.

I haven't seen Tom at all these past few days. No where to be seen at breakfast, lunch, nor dinner. How was he eating then? Did he have a secret stach in his room of food, or was he just not eating?

I sat by the dark lake this afternoon, the sun's reflection glistening against the water. Today was in fact new years eve. Today was also the day of the new years party happening in the Slytherin common room tonight. Pansy was always talking about it, she must be excited.

I headed back to Hogwarts after about an hour of staring into the dark lake and drowning in my thoughts. Once I got to the school, I was shoved up against a wall. Tom was standing there, his heavy breath hit my face lightly.

"We need to talk," He breathed out.

"Maybe when you stop being so violent," I mumbled angrily under my breath and walked away. He grabbed my waist and whirled me around.

"Remember how happy we were that night? That was one of the only nights that I smiled!" He snapped.

"That night means nothing to me anymore, Tom," I muttered. I stormed down the hall and up the stairs quickly.

"Victoria! There you are!" I heard Pansy's voice from behind me. I looked behind me to see Pansy running after me. Once she caught up she gasped for air.

"Are you going to the party tonight?" She asked me.

"I don't know," I stalled, "I just...i don't know. Well, you know. Right?"

"Maybe it would take your mind off things," She suggested.

"Last time you said that my ex and I got into a huge fight," I rolled my eyes.

"Well this time you don't have a boyfriend, so you're pretty much free," She told me.

"What if Tom is there?" I added on.

"Just ignore him," She sighed. Eventually she talked me into going, then I was pretty excited to go.

We went to Draco and Blaise dorm where we hung out for about an hour. We talked about the party and just hung out.

We headed down to the great hall after that. As I loaded my plate with roast beef, I looked over to my right to see Tom sitting at the far end of the table.

He of course had a book in his hand. His jet black hair was nicely combed, he was wearing a white button up shirt with a gray sweater vest.

It took me a moment to realize that he was looking at me to. His dark eyes met mine, I turned away back to my food. I started to cut up my roast beef into pieces. I put a piece into my mouth.

"Is that Tom over there?" Pansy asks me while pointing to Tom.

"Yeah," I nodded my head and drank some cranberry juice out of my goblet.

"He looks tired," She commented.

"I know," I agreed as I looked over at him. He had his eyes back on his book.

After dinner we headed back to our dorm to get ready for the party.

I looked in our closet. Many shirts sat on the rack on hangers that held them, "So...what do you wear to a new years eve party?"

"That's on you to decide, not me," Pansy smirked as she applied bronzer to her cheek bones. I looked back into the closet and pulled out a plain black long sleeved shirt and a plaid green skirt along along with some black boots.
