"How are you still alive? You're supposed to be dead!" A middle aged woman screamed in terror as she watched a man walk towards her.
He chuckled, "Do I scare you, now?"
"Don't come any closer!" The woman stepped away, shaking in absolute fear. She was covered in sweat, hair messy, and feet bare.
The man, however, didn't listen. He continued to walk, enjoying the bliss of being terrifying.
"Yeonmi,"
"What do you want!?"
"We both know that the prophecy is still going to happen."
"No, it will not. Stop talking nonsense, Seo."
"It was you who had the visions. It was you who knew."
"I was mistaken-"
"You're scared."
"I'm not!"
"Code 9 — it wasn't used yet. I know that you know, it will be soon. Stop trying to change the future, Yeonmi. Your powers won't do anything. You're just a useless experiment subject, you all are!"
Yeonmi woke up abruptly, she had the same dream for the past week. She knew that he was right, but she refused to accept it. She knew that it will eventually happen soon. She knew that her visions are always right. She knew that the warning was almost too late.
