As Mariella was brought into the operation hall Nate needed a moment before he could let go of her hand.

As soon as the doors closed he began to pace up and down, in front of the hall. He didn't stop 'till I took his hand and sat him down in one of the chairs.

"You draining yourself out isn't going to help in any way."

He seemed to believe me and with a helpless look in his eyes, he took me by the waist and let me sit down on his lap.

"I don't know how to keep calm." Nate whispered into my ear and let his head crush against the wall.

I heard a really loud bang but he didn't care.

Really worried I started to hug him again. "Everything will be fine. You will see, in no time Ella will have forgotten and you will too. Then it's just happiness and a healthy life."

The next hours I hugged, kissed and spoke calming words to him until he fell asleep in my arms.

Carefully I stood up and laid his body down onto 6 chairs that were standing in the hallway. As that was done I sat down again and put his head onto my lap.

Eli had gone home an hour ago saying that I should text her right away when we knew something.

After two more hours the doctor finally came out.

I shook Nate's shoulder but he wouldn't budge.
"Nate. The doctor is here." He groaned and opened his eyes, instantly closing them again as he looked into the bright lights. It was already two in the morning.

"She will be waking up pretty soon. The operation went well and we got the whole tumor out."

I hope that they did, I had paid them freaking $250,000 to do just that.

Nate, who seemed more awake now, and I went into the recovery room.

Mariella already had opened her eyes and was looking around in confusion. As she saw us she relaxed and closed her eyes again.

"You...here. Good." Was all she said before going back to sleep. I had to chuckle at that and tried to not break out into tears.

It took a load of my mind to see her so peaceful.

"She will probably not wake up again until tomorrow." I jumped as the doctor's voice came out of no where. Then I nodded and looked ahead of me to see Nate standing next to his sister's bed.

"You two should go home and get some sleep. Here is nothing more you can do. The hospital will contact you as soon as she wakes up and is not under sleeping drugs anymore."

Nate nodded and measured out Mariella's new scar on top of her head with his hands.

It had to be at least ten centimeters long.

Poor girl.

He looked up at me. "I'll drive you home." I nodded and in silence we went out to the parking lot.
