We didn't say a word to each other until my aunt's house was in sight. I had called her after Nate had fallen asleep and told her everything that happened.

That was around 10 PM but she seemed to have waited for us.

"Do you want to stay the night?" I turned my head to Nate and waited for his answer.

"If it won't cause any problems." He answered and yawned.

"It won't."

We went inside and Clare greeted us. She looked at me demanding answers.

"It went well. Ella is now drowsy from the drugs and has to sleep it out. They will call when she wakes up."

Relieved she first hugged Nate and then me.

"I'm so happy that everything went well."  Her wet eyes told me that she had been crying and was about to do so again.

I just nodded and somehow the tears started to roll down my cheeks too now. I hadn't cried the whole time but now that the stress and adrenaline went away I could not not cry.

Nat and I went up into my room shortly after and I gave him an old shirt my dad used to wear so he could sleep in that.

"Thank you for today Lumi."

He whispered as we laid in bed together, our legs intertwined.

"I'm always there for you, you don't have to thank me." I whispered back and cuddled closer to him.

Then we both fell asleep.

Nate's P.O.V.

I woke up first and slid out of bed. The morning air was cool and fresh, the birds chirped like every other day.

I put on my pants, should I cross paths with Lumi's aunt, and went downstairs.

Surprisingly she was already sitting at the kitchen counter.

"Good morning Nathaniel."

"Good morning." I replied.

I sat down at the table as she offered me a chair. Unsure of what she wanted to say I looked at her.

She sighed and began. "My dear, I know that Lumi really likes you a lot and I think you are a good boyfriend to her. I just want to ask you to be careful with what you get her into. She hasn't had it easy in the past and now she even paid for the operation of your little sister. I don't mind that at all but just please don't use her kindness. Okay?"

I needed a moment to process that. Lumi...she payed the hospital fee?!
"She payed the hospital fee?" I stared at aunt Clare, my mouth open. She nodded and wanted to continue talking but just then Lumi came into the kitchen. She rubbed her eyes and came to a halt behind me and my chair.

"You were gone." She told me sleepily.

I had to talk to her.

"Could you excuse us for a moment?" I asked her aunt who nodded.

"I have to go to work now anyway. Have a nice day you two." She waved and went out the front door.
