I brought him upstairs first. He still had no idea that I was about to ask him to move in with me.
He looked at the big room in awe and went to the tower, to look out onto the street.
"Everything looks so new, you did renovate it, right?" Nate's eyes lit up like a little kid's eating chocolate for the first time.
I nodded and showed him the bathroom.
"Are you going to rent this place out?" I decided to play a joke on him.
"Yes, the tenants are supposed to move into it the next couple of days. I already furnished it for them."
He nodded and continued looking around. "I bet they pay a lot for living here." I giggled and followed Nate as he went into the next room.
If only he knew...
The balcony and backyard surprised him most.
"If I would live here, I would get some chickens to always have fresh eggs in the morning." He grinned. "And a dog." I laughed with him. "I think I'd rather get a cat. Or both."
We went downstairs and Nate looked around in the livingroom. He noticed a picture on top of the old fireplace. It was my parents and me in our old house in Oulu. It had turned into our summer cottage since we moved to America. I could never sell that place. Too many memories held onto it.
"Is it your parents?" Nate asked and slung his arms around my waist from behind.
"Yes, it is a picture from our summer cottage at the sea. We would go there every year in the summer holidays."
I gulped, as all the memories came flooding back."One time we were there in autumn too and I saw the northern lights for the first time in my life. It was a magical night." Nate stared down at me.
"Sounds like you had a great childhood." I nodded.
"The best."
We went on and he looked at the little bathroom with a simple shower and toilet, then into the art studio and lastly we stood in front of Mariella's room.
I opened it and got in first.
He stepped in after me and frowned. "This is just like Mariella's dream room." He said chuckling.
I smiled cheekily and replied: "I really hope so, she was the one ordering the furniture for it."
Shocked Nate turned around.
"You don't mean..."
"Nathaniel Coleman, do you want to move in with me?"
