Three days before Mariella would be out of the hospital all of the furniture, I ordered for the house, had arrived.
My aunt and I spent a long time unpacking, coordinating and building up beds, couches and all the other things that now had a place in the little victorian house.
We had gotten a new bed and wardrobe for the barn as well.
As soon as I had put up the ad on a rental website a young woman, about 23 had called me.
She was really excited about the barn and offered me a higher rent than I had originally planned to demand from her.
So now the young woman was paying $850 for her 30m² large home, utilities included.
With that rental payment I was able to pay for groceries and my own utilities every month. Perfect, I had managed to live for free in the new house.
But back to the building part.
We had some struggle putting the bed together so I called some guys who had put an advertise on the internet to help build up furniture.
They did a good job and I let them build up all the other furniture in the house too, including the kitchen. In the evening everything was done.
The four of them cost me $1750 but that was a fair price for their hard work.
I thanked them and closed the door.
"Are you happy with your first home?" My aunt asked and I nodded, sitting down on the new sofa.
"It is perfect." I smiled happily and looked around.
The old house was build with bricks, which had far better quality than the newer wood houses in the area.
Everything smelled new and I couldn't wait to move in.
Tomorrow I would finally show Nate the property.
I was nervous just thinking about it.
"I'm sure he will love it just as much as you do." My aunt reassured me and I smiled at her.
"I really hope he will." Sighing we turned the lights off and went home, where I started packing my things up.
"...so I would pay you back $250 and the bank 500$ per month. I know it is not a lot but I can work more if you want!"
The next day I sat in Nate's car. He had just picked me up from school and now we drove to where I told him to.
"Don't start paying me back until you get rid off all your loans from the bank. They charge you interest rates whereas I couldn't care less about that, rakas."
"But..." Before he could ramble on I stopped him.
"Really, it is fine and I would feel bad. If you pay those $250 to the bank you'll be dept free faster than the other way around."
We've had that conversation three times already.
He sighed and gave up.
Good.
I couldn't care less if he paid me back or not, it only mattered that Mariella is back to health now, everything else can be swiped under the rug. (Getting some German proverbs in here lol "editing me")
We arrived at our future home and I got out of the car.
"What are we doing here?"
Grinning I held up my keys.
"I bought something."
His eyes widened.
"You didn't. Oh, that is so cool!" He went over to my side of the car and kissed me deeply.
"Yes, I did." I winked at him and went to the front door.
As I turned the key around he whispered in awe: "It looks like it's right out of a fairytale."
"Doesn't it?" I said in excitement and giggled.
The door creaked open and we went inside.
