Lumi's P.O.V.

After I had cried my eyes out we ate breakfast and talked about anything and nothing.

I was glad to have told Nate about my past and hoped there would be less to cry about now.

My wish was a happy future with him, were no one was sick, dying and crying.

Lovingly I looked into his grey eyes and kissed him.

"Let's hope for a happy future." He nodded and smiled at me.

Two hours later came the call from the hospital. Mariella was waking up.

Nate and I were already on our way and another load was taken from our shoulders now.

So everything really was looking up and getting better.

In a good mood we went to the elevator to take us upstairs.

I had called Elisabetta and told her all the news too. Now she stood in front of the door and waited for us so we all could go in together.

Mariella was already waiting for us, she waved from her laying position and smiled brightly. Back was the cheerful, little girl.

"Hey monkey." Nate smiled down at his little sister and sat next to her hospital bed.

"How are you feeling today?"

She began to tell us excitingly that now even when she pinched herself nothing hurt and that her head felt all fuzzy and stuff.

"Please don't pinch yourself Ella. It is the painkillers that make you feel a little numb but it will hurt later when you don't take them anymore so now you should not do things that normally hurt, okay?" Pouting slightly she nodded.

But I could see how frustrated she felt that no one had reacted positively to her incredible discovery.

So I quickly changed the theme.

"What do you want to do when we go home?" I asked her and her eyes lit up.

"I wanna eat ice cream!" She told us grinning and I laughed.

"We can do that. So get well fast." I winked at her and she tried to wink back but failed.

"As fast as I can." She replied and smiled into my direction.

The doctor told us that they had done a whole body scan and found no remaining cancer cells. Nate couldn't believe that his sister was fully healed and asked him three times if they really had looked over everything.

The doctor soon gave up trying to make him believe the truth and told us that Mariella was able to go home in about a week, depending on when they were able to pull out the strings on her scar.

The next days I visited Mariella every day, sometimes with and sometimes without her brother.

I still couldn't fully believe how close she had been to dying.

But now every danger was over and we could rest.

I thanked the lords over and over again for this miracle.
