Chapter 14: Goodbye, Ara

ARANYA

"So you were with those bastards huh? What the hell did those damn hooligans told you?"

After the first 2 subjects this morning, we are now taking a break to grab our snack. As usual, Seth and I are eating together in the cafeteria (which means my food is all free again) since this is also his last day here.

Time is indeed really fast. I thought it was just yesterday when I met him. Now he's sure to leave later and we will never see each other again. It hurts me a lot now.

"They just introduced themselves to me. Cole happened to see me while he's with them and then he said I can't walk alone. So I met them all." I explained before feeding myself with a spoonful of mac and cheese.

Ayoko nang sabihin pa na nakakatakot sila dahil wala naman akong karapatan na husgahan ang mga kaibigan niya. They might be creepy to me but to him, they're his companions. And besides, wala naman silang ginawa na hindi kaaya-aya sa akin. They are all nice.

"I see. Well it's better that you walked with them. The last time you were alone, you got attacked by some of my schoolmates." He said before sipping a bit on his pineapple juice while still looking at me straight.

Bigla ko tuloy naalala ang nangyari sa zombie run. When some of the Harman girl students attacked me and tried to kill me. Natakot pa nga ako mismo kay Seth dahil akala ko'y isa rin siya sa may balak na saktan ako. But thanks to him, I got into the clinic in no time and I got healed.

But I think him and his friends won't do that. They might look like thugs and gangsters but I have this feeling that they're not like that. I trust them.

"Kalimutan mo na iyon. Matagal na rin naman tsaka siguradong hindi na iyon mangyayari."

"Yeah. We will finally leave now anyway so you don't have to be scared anymore."

My heart felt a hard stab as he says those words. Hindi ko maiwasan ang mapayuko at tumingin sa pagkain dahil ayokong makita niyang naiiyak ako.

"Are you okay Ara? You look sad."
Mukhang nakahalata na si Seth at nagsimula nang magtanong. I can't see his face but the tone of his voice is full of worry and concern kaya't lalo akong naiyak.

"I-I'm fine. I-Its just..." My voice cracked already even if I'm trying to conceal the strong feeling.

Mukhang wala talaga akong maitatago kay Seth. My emotions just come out when I'm with him even when he just talks. His effect on me is so strong that I just break down while he's effortless.

"Come here." He as I hear the movement of his chair and his footsteps coming towards where I am. Bigla niya akong hinawakan sa kamay at hinaplos nang marahan sa likod.

"Let's go somewhere else."

As we went to the school park, he immediately dragged and cornered to a tree before he started kissing me mindlessly.

Akala ko ay kung saan niya lang ako dadalhin o kaya ay may iba siyang gagawin. I got shocked when he crashed his lip onto mine without even asking permission.

"Seth..." All I could do is utter his name when he separate his lips for a second before lip-locking me again.

I thought he'll keep doing that but sadly, he stopped. Umatras ito nang marahan bago ako tinitigan sa mata at marahang hinaplos ang pisngi ko.

"Don't think of sadness Ara. It breaks my heart when I see you sad. Just think about me okay? Just think about this..." He as he put his right index finger on my lower lip and slowly brushing it down before kissing me again passionately and leaving me breathless. "and all the wonderful things we did together. All of it. Please don't cry."
