Chapter 11: The Gang

ARANYA

Ako na mismo ang humingi ng dispensa kay Cole dahil sa matinding mura at sigaw na inabot niya kay Seth. Nang dahil lang sa magandang plating ay nagalit ito nang matindi sa kanya. Minsan ang sarap talagang sapukin ng lalaking iyon.

Pinagsabihan ko na lamang ito at ako na ang tumapos sa tawag para naman diretso na namin maubos ang pagkain at agad na matapos. I don't want to stay at the canteen any longer dahil ang daming nakatingin sa amin na mga mapanghusgang mata.

I was only bothered when I tried to ask an apology to Cole because I can hear other guys' voices pero nang magsalita na ako ay agad na tumahimik ang paligid ni Cole. I even checked at the table where he was sitting kung anong ginagawa ng mga katabi niya but they're just sitting still while eating.

I thought I saw them messy awhile ago?

Napunta rin kasi ang tingin ko sa puwesto ni Cole nang malaman kong ito ang tatawagan ni Seth. I can clearly see them chatting like long time friends but why did they still when I talked to Cole?

"Stop looking at Cole, Ara. I'm getting really mad."

Napabalik na lamang ang tingin ko kay Seth na halatang nagpipigil ng galit. His face's expression is similar to the one he did at the hospital to control his anger at the ladies who tried to kill me. Siguro ay matindi ang anger management issue ni Seth that's why he's acting like this.

How can I help him calm down though?

I tried to think of something that will soothe his anger and then come up with a simple yet an effective idea. I do this a lot so I'm sure it'll work.

"Hey, let's grab some chocolate ice-cream after this." I asked to get his attention which what indeed happen.

He tilted his head to look at me so I gave him a half-smile to lighten up the mood. I can't argue with him while he's trying to control his anger. Its like I'm fighting fire with gasoline.

Agad na nabura ang anumang galit sa mukha niya at tumango nang marahan sa akin bilang tugon.

"Okay then. Let's finish these food then before we buy our dessert." He then started scooping some vegetables from his bowl.

Wala naman akong nagawa kundi ang kumain na rin para matapos na agad at makabili ng sorbetes. Who'll say no to ice-cream anyway?

"Feeling better?" Tanong ko habang sumusubo ng sorbetes gamit ang ice-cream spoon na nakadikit din mismo sa cup.

Seth was also eating his ice-cream as we both walk on the school corridor to catch up with the next 2 subjects before lunch.

As always, nakatingin pa rin sa aming dalawa ang mga tao but since he already told me to don't mind them then I don't care at all.

"I guess. Is that why you asked me to eat ice-cream?"

Agad akong napalingon dito at napanganga dahil naintindihan niya agad ang plano ko. There's no point in denying it.

"Yeah."

"I see. That's why you chose chocolate flavor instead of asking me what I want."

Chocolate can change a person's emotion and mood. I learned that one time on our Health subject. I forgot what kind of substance was that but I'm pretty sure that chocolate gives a pretty light mood.

"Did it work?"

"Well, why won't it anyway?" He answered plainly before eating another spoon of ice-cream.
