Chapter 36: No Happy Endings

ARANYA

"Itaas niyo na ang mga kamay niyo! Napapaligiran na namin kayo!"

I thought the police barging in the scene will give me a silver lining after all. As I saw tita Precious pointing at all the guys, I thought I will feel safe. But I never felt any of it. Wala akong ibang nararamdaman ngayon kun'di kaba dahil alam kong ni pulisya ay hindi mapipigilan ang mga kasama ko.

And I was right. Sabay-sabay na pinatay ng lahat ang hawak nilang flashlight kaya't muling naging madilim ang daan. Before I knew it, someone already covered my nose and mouth with a soft silk that smells a bit weird. I tried to muffle but then my body weakened as I slowly passed out of nowhere.

The next thing I know, all the lights are closed and a few gunshots were thrown through the air. I heard everyone saying run and some are calling out for madam's name but sadly, we never heard her voice again.

I was thinking that maybe Seth or any of the guys got her as I clearly remember she was in our side before the lights went out so I just started running before I turned my flashlight on and saw Rupert bleeding through his nose.

"What the hell happened to you?" I asked him without halting as I saw Simon and Den running with us.

"Ah ito? Noong kasing may sumigaw ng takbo, tumakbo ako agad eh sa madilim at wala akong makita kaya't bumangga ako sa estatwa."

I heard the guys laugh as they keep running before heard a police calling us to stop before firing at us. He keep on missing a shot on us until we finally got out so I hopped inside the car. Nagulat ako nang makitang galit na galit na nakatingin sa amin si Seven habang iniikot ang steering wheel.

"Where the fuck is Ara? Where is she?" Galit niyang atungal habang inililibot ang tingin sa harap para hanapin si madam.

Sa sobrang taranta ay binuksan ko ang bintana ng kotse at halos ilabas ko na ang katawan ko para lang mahagilap kahit ang anino lang sana ni Ara pero wala. It raised so many concerns and worries as I desperately try to find her. I badly wonder where is she. I hope she's in a motorbike with one of the guys.

ARANYA

"Damn! Not enough!" Dinig kong reklamo ni Lucian kasabay ng sunod-sunod na putok ng baril mula sa labas ng kotse na sinasakyan ko ngayon.

I can hear some yelling from the outside while Lucian is pouring something in a white handkerchief, "Sorry lady classmate. I poured only a little. I'll make sure you'll be sleeping peacefully for the rest of the trip. No stress." Ani niya at balak sanang takpan muli ang bibig ko pero agad akong natigilan nang may sumigaw na babae mula sa labas.

"Nakita niyo ba si Ara?" Galit na tanong ni tita Precious bago ako nakarinig muli ng putok ng baril.

Pareho kaming nagkatitigan ni Lucian pero mabilis akong gumalaw at sinipa ang kamay niya palayo bago sumigaw, "Tita! Tulong!" I screamed loudly as I try to open the door but Lucian made a quick move and pulled me.

But I didn't stop there. Nagpumiglas ako at sinubukang manlaban habang sumisigaw pa rin. Mukhang nakatunog na si tita Precious dahil biglang pinaandar na ng punong guro ang kotse.

"Ara!" Sigaw ni tita mula sa labas bago ako nakarinig nang malakas na putok ng baril na tumama sa isang bakal, "itigil mo ang sasakyan Seven! May usapan tayo!"

Wrong. She thought it was Seth who took me so I tried preventing him from covering my nose again with a sleeping drug as I try to scream again, "Tita Precious! Nandito po ako! Wala si Seth---" Lucian caught my mouth as I inhaled the same weird scent again and it made me lose my strength slowly. Bigla akong nanghina kasabay ng boses kong hindi na makasigaw nang malakas dahil tinatakpan ito ni Lucian hanggang sa unti-unti ulit na nawalan ako ng malay.
