Morgan's POV

Things were a bit weird after the dance.

Kaden didn't talk much for the rest of the night after I came back from dancing with Jessie and it bummed me. It almost made me regret accepting it in the first place, while I was dancing with Jessie it felt like a dream but seeing how Kaden was afterwards... maybe it wasn't the smartest decision.

Today is Christmas eve and my parents are out and running preparing things for tonight since it's our year to host the Christmas dinner and my grandparents and some of my cousins are coming over. My mom is hectic about it because she wants to outshine my aunt's last years dinner.

You know just good ol' sibling rivalry.

I wouldn't know though I don't have any siblings, luckily, more for me.

I tried to call Kaden to know what she was up to but she didn't pick up any of the two times I called but I dialled her one more time and this time she did pick up.

"What Morgan?" Kaden said over the phone.

She sounded upset but I don't understand is why would she be mad at me.

"Are you okay?" I asked.

She sighed, "Yeah I'm just busy. What's up?"

"Nothing I wanted to see what you were up to and ask you if you and your dad wanted to come by tonight for dinner?"

"I'm helping my dad out with dinner actually so I don't think we'll be able to go, but thanks for the invite."

"Oh okay... Kade are we- are we good?" I asked hesitantly.

She was silent for a few seconds, "Why wouldn't we be?"

"That's the thing, I don't know, so are we good?"

"Sure Morgan."

"Nice ca-"

"I have to go, talk to you later." Kaden said before hanging up the phone.

Something tells me we are not as good as she said.

I mean... it couldn't have been the almost kiss at the dance right?

Did it make her uncomfortable is that why she's avoiding me?

I sighed and looked out of my window to Jessie's room who had all the lights turned off. I think her and her family went out of town for Christmas, I haven't seen them in some days.

I called Jason after to see what he was up to but his mom has him trapped at their house arranging it because their family was coming over too.

So I think I'm on my own today, which sucks. A lot.

I was bored out of my mind so I decided on playing fortnite to kill time and get some entertainment.

After two hours of playing my parents arrived home.

"Morgan we are home come down to help!" I heard my mom say from downstairs.

Jeez is not been even a minute since she came home and already giving orders.

"I'm kind of busy right now!" I responded as I tried to not get killed on my game.

"Morgan!" This time my dad yelled but I ignored him.

There's only two other people left in the game so there's no way I'm leaving it.

I killed one of them and now I have one left to go.

I was about to run off the storm when my character stopped moving.

No internet?

"WHAT THE FUCK!" I yelled and threw my controller against the wall.
