Morgan's POV
I gave myself and Kaden the right amount of time before I approached her again. I thought that a week and some days would be good enough to at least talk to her again—especially because I want us to at least be on speaking terms before graduation which is coming closer and closer.
"Again, what are you and Norah going to do since you two are going to different colleges in different states?"
"We are going to try long distance but if we think it's getting too much or not working we'll just break up. I want her to be happy and she wants the same for me, so we won't force things." Jason explained while he texted on his phone.
"That sounds so easy even though you love her."
Jason looked up and put his phone down, "It's not easy at all but I love her and I want what's best for her. Even if we don't work out I'll always remember her and our time together in senior year."
"You have it bad for her don't you?" I asked.
"Yes I do," he replied with a small smile forming on his face.
We were interrupted by Jason's mom entering the basement-bedroom. "Oh, Morgan, I didn't you were here!"
"Mrs. Endo!" I stood up from Jason's bed and went to hug her.
"My dear," she said as she hugged me. "Jason, why didn't you tell me Morgan was here," she looked accusingly to my best friend.
"Oh yeah, mom, Morgan is here."
Mrs. Endo glared at her son before looking back at me with a smile as we broke from the hug. "How have you been Morgan?"
"I've been good. How was your trip to DC, Mrs. Endo?"
"I've told you to call me Marilyn, Morgan and it was perfect," she looked at Jason. "You should have come with us sweetie."
"I had school mom," Jason excused himself. I know it's an excuse cause spending time with his parents happens to be one of his least favorite things. He loves them — it's just that their personalities and idea of 'fun' are very different.
Jiro and Marilyn Endo are a nice sweet couple, Jiro is a lawyer which is why they sometimes go out of town and Marilyn owns a small bookshop downtown. They're a really calm and laid back family, just like Jason — they're just a little more... antiquated than he is which is why he gets bored in trips with them or so he tells me.
"It was three days and this is was your last week of school," she raised a brow.
"Got to make the most of the high school experience before it's over." Jason smiled while his mom gave him a unamused look. "Anyways where's dad?" He tried to change the subject.
"Your dad got a call from the office, he'll be back for dinner." Marilyn explained and then glanced back at me. "Morgan are you hungry?" She asked me.
"Hey! Why don't you ask me if I'm hungry?" Jason complained.
"You're always hungry honey," she responded and then looked around the room. "And clean your bedroom for god's sake Jason."
"It's clean."
Marilyn put a hand on her hip while the other pointed to all the places where Jason had dirty laundry thrown at. "Clean it."
"Fine," he sighed in defeat.
I looked at Marilyn, "I'm not hungry thank you, but I do have to go though."
"Going to see her?" Jason asked.
"Yeah."
"Oh, then I'll walk you out while Jason cleans his bedroom." Marilyn gave her son a pointed look — making Jason groan loudly.
