Morgan's POV
Just ring the bell already.
I hesitated to do it as I stood in front of Jessie's house door. Today I'm supposed to help Jessie with chemistry and as usual I'm nervous as hell.
As I was about to ring the bell the door opened and I was face to face with Jessie's mom.
Shit.
"Hello Mrs. Miller," I greeted her.
"Oh hello Morgan, how are you?" The older woman asked me.
If I had to describe Herizen Miller with one word it would be gorgeous, she's the older version of Jessie anyone could tell from a mile away, their only difference being that her skin tone is a bit darker than her daughter's but nothing else besides that.
"I'm good Mrs. Miller, is Jessie home?" I asked while fiddling with my hands; speaking with adults has always made me nervous.
"Yes she's upsta-"
"Morgan!" Jessie said appearing behind her mom. "Sorry mom I forgot to tell you she was coming over to help me with some homework."
They both looked at me and all I did was smile tightly and then move my gaze elsewhere.
"It's alright, I have to go to work now though it was nice seeing you Morgan say hi to your mom for me and Jessie your dad and I we'll be back later than usual today so I left money for you to order dinner and Eddy is staying at a friend's today."
Jessie nodded and we bid goodbye to her mom.
Inside the house we stood there in front of the door while Jessie texted on her phone, I waited for her to finish and looked around the house.
She then put the phone away in her pocket and looked at me with a bright smile, "Sorry about that Hayley was asking me something about our cheer routine."
"Don't worry, uh should we stay down here or?"
"Let's go to my room like always," she responded so I agreed and followed her.
When we got to her room I sat on her bed and put my things on it while Jessie was once again texting away on her phone by the door still before walking towards her desk and grabbing her notebook and approaching the bed all while on her phone. Once she sat on it she put her phone down and looked at me.
"Sorry again, now you have all my of attention." Jessie reassured me and I just nodded at her with a small smile playing on my lips.
I cleared my throat, "So what is it that you need help with."
Jessie came closer to me and opened her book showing me her last class and all of the exercises, it was hard for me to keep my sole focus on what she was talking about as I would get distracted by how beautiful she was. I tried not to stare because I didn't want to look like a weirdo but a part of me thinks she knew I was looking at her ever so often instead of paying attention to her chemistry homework.
We spent two hours working, one was focused on me explaining the subject to Jessie while the other was guiding her through her homework. Teaching Jessie is always easy 'cause she's a fast learner which makes me wonder why does she struggle to learn chemistry in class but gets the hang of it easily when I explain it to her. I asked her about it and she simply said that 'I explain better than Mr. Hammond' which I took as a compliment because despite him being insufferable and an strict teacher I have to admit he's pretty good at his job.
"Okay I think we are done for today," I said as I closed my book.
"I think we are," she responded and looked at me for a second while biting her lip and I couldn't help but stare at it for a second too long before averting my gaze, suddenly finding the duvet more interesting.
