Morgan's POV

"So Jase did you invite Norah yet to the winter dance?" I asked him.

"No, I'll ask her when she comes over later."

"Good luck with that."

"So are you taking Kaden to the dance?" Jason asked.

"Well yeah we are supposed to be dating so I guess." I shrugged.

He stopped what he was doing and looked at me. "Dude don't just assume, ask her to the damn ball."

I groaned, "But that means I have to use words and I suck with those."

"Just say 'Kade my sweetie pie, my lovey dovey girlfriend, the girl of my eyes, would you do me the honour of going to the winter dance with me?"

I looked at him in disgust.

"What the fuck was that?"

"Your speech." He responded as if obviously.

"I'm not in a million years saying that cringey shit," I clarified.

"Why not?"

"Because is fucking ridiculous and I don't know if you remember but Kaden and I are not really girlfriends. I don't actually like her like that."

He frowned, "I know that Morgan but I'm just saying that, just because you're not really dating her doesn't mean she doesn't deserve something nice and pretty. You know no one has ever asked Kaden to those dances you'll be the first person to take her, so just... be sweet."

Jason is right.

Kaden is my best friend in the whole world and she deserves nothing but the best of the best so I'll ask her properly. Not because I feel like I owe it to her but because I want to do it.

"You're right Jase, I'll ask her properly."

"That's the spirit Morg!" He exclaimed and then threw a snowball to my face.

Asshole.

We are currently making a bunch of snowballs in the backyard of my house while we wait for Kaden and Jason's guest, Norah. We planned to play in the snow today or more like have a snowball war.

I know it sounds childish but is honestly so fun.

"What's up losers." Kaden made her presence known while entering my backyard.

"Hey you're early." I stood up and wiped the snow off my pants.

"I know I thought I could help you two out but I see that you're good." Kaden looked behind me to see the separated piles of snowballs.

"Yep we are almost ready Jason is finishing some for his girlfriend."

"She's not my girlfriend! Yet." He yelled but mumbled the last part making us chuckle.

"I brought you something," Kaden said while ruffling through her bag. "Here," she handed me a bag of marshmallows.

I freaking love marshmallows.

I grabbed the bag with my gloved hand and hugged the hell out of my best friend. "Kade you really are the best in the entire fucking world."

I might be shorter than her but my hugs are tighter than hers by a long shot.

"Hey lovebirds what the fuck are you doing?"

I sighed before turning around and look at the other side of my house fence.

"Hayley don't be rude," Jessie nudged her friend. "Hey Morg, Kaden, what are you three up to?"

"Why would we tell y-" Kaden started to say before I interrupted.
