Morgan's POV

"Mom!" I yelled as I walked down the stairs.

"What Morgan?" she muttered while looking at her phone.

"Can you drive me to Kaden's?"

She looked up, "Sorry honey but I have to go to the grocery store, you are welcome to join me."

"Eh no thanks I think I'll pass." I retreated from the livingroom and headed to the garage.

I looked at my forgotten bike in the corner of the room and sighed. I really need to get my license.

Without waiting anymore I got on the bike and started to make my way to Kaden's.

While riding I couldn't help but let my mind wander to what happened with Hayley the other day. It kind of makes sense, well not kind of, more like a lot of sense her liking Jessie being the reason she hates me. What doesn't makes sense is that she hates me because I like Jessie, because what does it matter that I do since Jessie probably doesn't even like me.

Plus I'm with Kaden now she will be my only focus from now on. That's what I keep reminding myself of.

Kaden is special to me hurting her is the last thing I would like to do but I feel like my stupid self is bound to fuck it up at some point.

I got so lost on my own head that I almost got ran over but luckily the sound of the horn of the car brought me back, that and the driver cursing me out and telling me to look where I'm going.

Finally I arrived to Kaden's safe and sound in one piece. I left my bike on her backyard and went to knock on her door and wait for Kaden to come open it.

When the door is finally opened instead of being Kaden at the other side is her dad.

"Hey Derrick, is Kaden home?" I asked him.

"No she just left to the store," he replied.

I knew I should've called or texted before coming over.

"Oh... well I'll just come back later then." I turned around and went to try and leave but I was stopped by a hand over my head turning me back around.

Crap.

"No no young lady, you and I have a chat pending."

"Do we now?" I tried to act dumb but I knew there was no way out of this.

Derrick hummed, "Just because you're a girl doesn't mean you get to skip it Morgan."

I groaned.

"I'm not getting out of this am I?"

"Nope." That was all Derrick said before walking back inside probably waiting for me to follow him.

He was already sat in his sat recliner with his hands together waiting for me.

I sat on the opposite couch and looked at him with boredom. "Don't you think you're being a bit too dramatic?"

He raised a finger, "Shush."

"Okay..." I gave up.

"What are your intentions with my daughter Morgan?" Derrick asked.

"Really, from which 90's teenage movie did you get that from?" I laughed but he looked at me seriously.

Oh he's for real.

"Kaden and I have been best friends since forever as you obviously know but this is new... different and kind of scary to be honest. I don't know how it will turn out but I want to do it right. I want us to work and I want to make Kaden happy because she means a lot to me."
