*I don't own Transformers or anything affiliated with Transformers. I only own my original characters and plots. All rights go to Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg.*

It's been a good fifteen minutes since we left my house and I still had no clue where we were going. Ironhide made sure he stayed silent every time I talked to him, but I kept on, just hoping he would crack and maybe give me some insight as to why I was here right now.

After another failed attempt at trying to figure out our designated destination, I let out a sigh of defeat and propped my feet up onto the dashboard. He shot me a look.

"Is that really necessary?"

I nodded.

"As long as it's necessary to keep stuff from me, then yeah. Let me ask you something. Do you know what today is?" I inquired.

He shot me a look. "Thursday, I believe. Why do you ask?"

Adalyn laughed and I scoffed. What a dick. .

"You forgot my birthday. How lovely," I countered.

"Is that today? It didn't quite register within my processors. I apologize," he chuckled.

I rolled my eyes. "Shut up. You knew good and well what today was, asshole."

He laughed. "How old are you now?"

I kicked the dashboard but he only laughed harder.

"Twenty earth years," I answered him.

"The way you act convinces me otherwise," he retorted.

"And what on earth do you know about the way twenty year old humans are supposed to act?"

Adalyn was snorting back her laughter.

"I know enough to know that they do not act as you do."

I rolled my eyes playfully. "Well, I'm different."

There was now a warm smile on his face.

"I know enough to know that as well."

I smiled but it dropped once I noticed the emotion in his face shift from playful to angry. The truck screeched to a stop and behind us I could hear Bumblebee come to a very abrupt halt. The seat belt quickly tightened around me to keep me from flying out the windshield but it was soon retracted.

"Get out," Ironhide ordered. I was more than confused about what was happening.

"Wha-"

"Get out now! Both of you," he exclaimed.

The front and back doors to his alternate mode opened and before I could make a move to get out, I was dumped onto the ground along with Adalyn.

The sound of metal scraping against metal sounded in my ears and I turned to see Ironhide transforming. Quickly, I pulled Adalyn up from the ground and turned around to run, but was stopped by Sam, Mikaela, and Leo, all of them staring past us with fear in their eyes. I turned around to see Starscream in front of Ironhide and a now transformed Bumblebee.

"Give me the girl, Ironhide," Starscream spat. I grabbed Adalyn's hand and ran, not even bothering to look back.

"There's just no fucking rest for the wicked, is there?" I screamed, agitated that the Decepticon Seeker decided to swoop in and ruin my birthday.

"Just run, Lea!" Sam yelled from behind me.

The three of them were following us. The thing was that I had no idea where I should even go. There was really nowhere to hide; the only thing around us was road, grass and trees.

Not far behind us, I could hear the all too deafening sound of metal on metal. It seemed to me that there was now another Decepticon present but I didn't dare look back to find out.

A gunshot sounded and the ground trembled greatly, the impact of what I assumed to be a Cybertronian, sent us flying into the grassy field on our left. I rolled on the ground several times before coming to a stop.

"I am so sick of this!" I heard Leo scream.

Looking up, I kind of hoped to see either Ironhide or Bumblebee but instead I saw the face of a Decepticon, one I wasn't particularly familiar with. It rolled over on its side and its bright red optics burned into my eyes, a evil smile coming onto its face.

In a rush to get up, I tripped over a small rock but quickly retaliated. I pulled Adalyn up from the ground and looked at the rest of them.

"Run to the forest," I instructed them.

I pushed Adalyn in front of me, but before I even took a step, a giant metal hand was wrapping itself around my body. I gasped as I felt myself being lifted, the ground beneath me getting further and further away.

"Lea!" I heard Sam yell as he held on tightly to Mikaela's arm.

I stared at him with horror in my eyes, struggling to get out of the bot's grip.

"Run!" I instructed him.

He hesitated before he, Mikaela, Leo, and Adalyn took off for the forest. The bot squeezed me harder and I continued to struggle which only received a laugh from the Decepticon.

"Help me! Let me go!" I screamed as I continued struggling.

Ahead of me I could see Ironhide and Bumblebee fighting a total of about five Decepticon's and in the distance I could see Optimus and several more of the Autobots advancing onto the battle grounds.

That very familiar sound flooded through my ears yet again and it didn't take me long to realize that the Decepticon holding me was trying to transform which caused me to go into a panic attack. I refused to finally be defeated by a Decepticon.

"Ironhide!" I screamed.

His attention shot to me and his optics widened ever so slightly. He raised his cannon and delivered a single shot towards the transforming mech. The blast from the cannon hit the mech's shoulder plate, the impact from it causing him to release me and instead of falling to the ground, I was flying through the air.

A shrill scream escaped my body as the cold wind blew through my hair. I braced myself for impact, braced myself for death, but neither came. Instead, I found myself laying in the palm of a metal hand. Trembling from fear, I slowly looked up to see Ironhide looking down at me, a hint of fear in his eyes. I sighed in relief, and practically melted into his large servo. The next thing I knew, I was in the back seat of his cabin and he was speeding down the long road.

"What about Sam, Mikaela, Adalyn, and Leo? We can't just leave them," I exclaimed.

"They're safe. At the moment, the Decepticons are only after you so I needed to get you as far away from them as possible," he answered me.

I gulped. "He almost got me," I whispered, more to myself than him.

"I know."

The seat belt wrapped around my body in a protective and comforting notion. I pulled my knees up to my chest and sighed.

"Thank you, Hide."

"It was my pleasure, Lea."

"Where are we going?" I asked him.

"Back to base."

I just nodded and sat back in my seat, watching the trees pass by in a blur. This had turned out to be one very eventful birthday.
