Research papers were a bitch and there was nothing I hated doing more than writing these shit papers. I had thought that papers in high school were bad, but this was way worse. My weekend was shot to hell because of this paper and I already despised my English professor. I was just more than happy that I didn't have her class again for another week and I was equally as happy that I didn't have another class until Tuesday. I truly did live for Thursdays.
Sighing in defeat, I closed my laptop and sat it on my dresser. I was nearly finished with my research paper already but I still had a bunch of citations to add to it, something of which I hated doing.
Right now all I was doing was waiting on a phone call from my mom. Her, Annabelle, and dad were on their way to Princeton right now to bring me my car and I honestly couldn't wait to see it and them. The only thing I wished was that Ironhide could have come with them. I had been missing him so much these past couple of days and I would gladly give anything just to be able to hear his voice and to see his face. The pain still had yet to disappear from my body and it wouldn't until I was able to be with him again.
I reached down to grab the remote off of the floor and turned the TV on to the music channel. The sound of Iyaz's "Replay" echoing throughout the room. I laid back on my pillow and closed my eyes, softly humming along with the tune of the song.
Shortly after the song ended, the door to my room opened and I opened up my eyes to see that Adalyn was returning from her afternoon class. She let out a huff and tossed her bag onto her bed before walking over and sitting down in one of the bean bag chairs. Jason Derulo's song "Whatcha Say" began to play on the TV and Adalyn squealed in excitement. I just laughed at her.
"This is seriously my favorite song ever," she chuckled.
"Mmm, whatcha say? Mmm, that you only meant well? Well of course you did," I sang.
Adalyn laughed at me but continued singing. "Mmm, whatcha say? Mmm, that it's all for the best? Of course it is."
I just hummed along with her as she proceeded to sing every single word. This was all we had done for the past two days. Adalyn, Mikaela, and I would always do this after Adalyn and I came back from our classes but since Mikaela was out with Sam today, that just left the two of us to enjoy our jam session.
"How could I live with myself knowing that I let our love go? And oh, when I do with one chance. I just gotta let you know. I know what I did wasn't clever, but me and you were meant to be together," I croaked out.
Adalyn laughed at me and I pouted. One downside to these little "sessions" was that they left me with a very sore throat. I was surprised I hadn't gotten laryngitis yet.
The sound of my phone ringing caught my attention and I dived towards the end of my bed to grab the device. Without checking the caller ID, I accepted the call and pulled the phone up to my ear.
"Hello?" I croaked. I quickly cleared my throat when Adalyn laughed at me again.
"Hello?" my mom answered. I perked up at the sound of her voice.
"Hey. What's up?" I croaked again.
I groaned and Adalyn laughed harder. I threw a pillow at her to shut her up but it didn't quite help that much.
"We're out by the student parking lot. I suggest you hurry," my mom laughed.
The line disconnected before I could respond. I got off of my bed and tossed my phone onto the mattress before grabbing a nearly dead Adalyn's arm and pulling her up from the small chair.
