The ride back to base took another ten minutes. It was especially silent, however, as the thought of nearly being taken away by a Decepticon lingered inside my mind. It scared me to say the least. I was about five seconds away from being a Decepticon toy and it thoroughly displeased me.

"Will you stop fidgeting? I can assure you that you're safe," Hide spoke as he pulled to a stop in front of the hangar doors.

I sighed. "For now," I mumbled.

There was no stopping the Decepticons. When they wanted something, they intended to get it and they didn't care what they had to do to get it either. I didn't know when my next encounter with them would be, but I was almost certain that I would never be completely safe until the Earth was rid of them altogether.

"Have I let anything happen to you, Azalea?" Hide grumbled.

"Not yet."

"And I won't.

I just opened the door and hopped out. Before I even had the time to take a breath, both of my parents ran over to me, enveloping me in a hug.

"I'm fine. No harm done as of right now, anyway," I assured them, pulling them away from a now transforming Ironhide.

My dad stepped towards him. "What's the verdict, Hide?"

"Seven 'Cons total. They fled not too long after I took off with Azalea. Optimus, Bumblebee, Dino, and Sideswipe should be here momentarily with the rest of the children," Hide answered.

I just walked away, heading further into the hangar. Today was stressing me out a lot more than I had planned. Who knew that turning twenty could be such a difficult task?

"Why the long face?" a familiar voice asked from behind me. I smiled and turned around to face my uncle.

"Oh, you know. Nearly being captured by an alien tyrant on your birthday is nothing short of stressful. What are you doing here? I thought you were home for vacation?"

"I couldn't miss my niece's twentieth birthday, now could I?" Epps laughed as he threw an arm around my shoulder.

I wrapped my arms around his side.

"Glad to know that eve after twenty long years, you still love me," I teased.

He ruffled my hair. "There's so much to love. I don't understand how someone could stop."

I squeezed his side. Immediately, I became aware of the eerie silence in the large building. Looking around, I noticed that there was nobody in the hangar. My parents were no longer inside the hangar, and nor was Ironhide. My face contorted in confusion at the sight.

"Where is everyone?" I inquired. Epps chuckled and began pulling me towards the inside hangar exit.

"Why don't we find out?" he smirked.

He lead me through the many hallways of the base, which were strangely quiet as well. I groaned as the gym came into view. I truly hoped this was not another training session with the Autobots. They had nearly murdered me and I honestly didn't think I could take much more.

"Please tell me you're not taking me to another training session with the Autobots. I'm still sore from fighting them three days ago," I exclaimed.

"No, it's nothing like that. Just don't hurt anyone please," he instructed me as he pulled the gym doors open.

I turned around to look at him but he shoved me inside, the sound of my family, friends, and only two of the Autobots-Mudflap and Skids-yelling SURPRISE scared me in the slightest. My eyes widened and I turned around to face everyone. I mentally laughed at the lack of enthusiasm contributed by the Autobots. I guess that surprise parties weren't very popular on their planet.

"I hate you all," I exclaimed.

"And that's exactly the response we were looking for," my mom chirped.

Annabelle jumped from her arms and ran over to me, a huge smile on her face. I smiled and picked her up before walking over to the large group of people in front of me. Adalyn, Sam, Mikaela, and Leo approached me, and the second Annabelle laid eyes on Adalyn, she practically threw herself into her arms. I just shook my head and Sam engulfed me into a hug, nearly knocking me over in the process.

"Whoa there," I warned. He laughed and pulled away.

"I thought you were going to be a goner. I'm just happy you're okay," he smiled at me.

I ruffled his hair. "And I'm glad the four of you got away safely."

One by one, I walked around and greeted everyone, Autobot and human alike. It was so good to actually be with everyone like this, especially after the incident that just took place. My only hope was that Starscream and his minions didn't actually show up here and attempt to capture me again. I've already had enough with the Decepticons today; I believed I deserved at least a piece of cake before having to deal with them again.

"So, you look bored with your life," I teased as I approached Ironhide.

He grunted. "Your human customs are very strange."

I scoffed. "This is not what I would call a custom, at least in my opinion. I loathe surprise parties," I responded.

He chuckled and wrapped an arm around my shoulder. "I could tell by your reaction when you turned around. But trust me, I'm not particularly fond of them either."

I laughed.

"Lennox!" my dad called. I turned around to see him with a large cake in his hands and my eyes brightened up. He sat it down on a large table in the middle of the room and I skipped over; everyone wasted no time in gathering around.

"This is chocolate, right?" I inquired.

My dad laughed and nodded.

"Go on. Blow out your candles," he instructed me.

I looked down at the cake to see that there were no candles. My eyebrows scrunched together in confusion, but before I could look back up at my dad, my head was being slammed down towards the table. I squealed as my face met the cold and sticky substance. The sound of laughter could be heard around me and I quickly shot my head up, wiping the icing from my eyes to get a better look at everyone in front of me.

"Who did that?"

My dad pointed behind me and I turned to see Ironhide standing behind me, a smirk on his face. I growled.

"Happy birthday, kid."

I gave him an innocent smile before grabbing a handful of cake and throwing it at him. A disgusted expression appeared on his face as the cake made impact with his shoulder. I laughed and the next thing I knew, there was something sticky hitting me in the back of the neck. I turned around and met eyes with Adalyn who held her cake-infested hand up in the air. I grabbed another handful of the dessert and held it up, a smirk on my face as I stared at Adalyn.

"It's so on," I exclaimed as I threw the piece of cake at her.

Before long, a full blown cake war began. It had only taken one small action to make my birthday one of the best. The lot of use may have been acting like complete children at the moment, but I didn't really care. I was surrounded by everyone I loved at the moment and I couldn't ask for a better way to spend my day.
