I need my opinion

I was reading a book "A WEDDING CRUISE - A CHASE AND SKYE FANFICTION" which is written by eleenaelizabeth and I was suprised by reason why Chase decided to marry Everest. So this one shot will be based on this story! Enjoy!

Chase was laying under the tree in forest near Jakes Mountain, trying to forget one day, which he would to forget as quickly as his mind could. All pups, even Ryder, Katie, Porter family, Turbot cousins and Mayor Goodway gave him many tasks to serve. The most important thing was that they didn't even give him compromises: "Do it and no more questions!" But for one person, Chase gave what she needed: Skye, his crush since she joined Paw Patrol. Unfortunatelly, this feeling was also under question, as Chase and Marshall had a talk about it.

Chase: Come ooon! Why do you think that me and Skye are not going to be a couple?

Marshall: Because you two are different by sizes. I think Everest would be a great match with you. Also Skye knows that you are a serious pup, so we think you'll like... put her on pressure.

Chase: Yeah I have a serious character so what? I can also be a soft person, but I'm being like this only when I stay close to Skye.

Marshall: Good luck then, but don't cry when Skye will decide to break up with you because of your too much seriousness.

He also remebered the talk with Ryder, because of reason why they gave him tasks, despite that he had plans for this day. This talk has been heard by other pups, so they joined conversation, which was turned into big argument.

Chase: I should listen to you?! Looks like I'm second in command, so you should listen to me!!

Rocky: Yeah! But second in command should help his colleagues!!

Chase: Helping you 24/7?! Even I want to relax or I have plans for myself?! That's too much!!

Zuma: Listen, if you don't help us in regular situations, you can quit Paw Patrol!

Ryder: Pups, that's too much from you, not from Chase! We all need help from each other, but everybody needs a rest. If who can request a help from Chase 24/7, that's only me!

Chase: So you're also don't want to let me serve my plans or relax, right Ryder sir?

Ryder (realized): No no no no no no no! Of course not, Chase. W-w-why did you ask?

Chase (sad): Looks like I'm here like second leader of team just because everybody think "He's second in command, he will serve everything".

Chase looked one last time at all pups, who had a look "I don't care", which had the strongest punch on his self-esteem and went to elevator. He went down and moved to his puphouse where he slept for last time. At 5 o'clock in the morning, Chase woke up with already packed things, exited his puphouse quietly and left the Lookout and arrived to forest when the sun was staying high in the sky. At the Lookout everybody noticed Chases absence and got surprised: they thought that he will try to fix everything.

Rubble: Looks like it went quite too harsh, wasn't it?

Marshall: I'm afraid so. And I heard Ryders sobs full night. I think he's still regreting his words.

Zuma: Still I started dating Skye, so I'm good.

Marshall: How and when?

Zuma: Rocky told me to get a chance, since she won't suffer from Chases seriousness anymore.

Marshall: Or because you also had a crush on her and found a chance to ask her out.

Zuma: Well, it's also a reason. But... she didn't look happy when I did it to her.

Rubble: Anyway, where is she?

Zuma: Went on her daily patrol.

It was 3 days ago and they tried to find Chase, but no success. Skye asked Ryder to do it again and again easily revelaing her feelings to Chase and what most important, didn't make Zuma angry. Still she tried to find him by solo and today when she went on her daily patrol Skye decided to find Chase again. When she started patrolling forest near Jakes mountain, a light rain has started.

Skye (to herself): I think I should return home before rain get worse.

But suddenly she saw someone under the tree and it was Chase. Without hesitations she landed her helicopter quickly and ran to the tree and saw him, but how bad he looked: messy fur, skinny and dark circles under eyes. Skye got closer to him and lightly nuzzled his chest. When she stopped nuzzling she looked at his depressed face. Suddenly he started talking.

Chase (to himself): Chase do this... Chase you need to... Chase you must... Chase you should do that... Can I ask at least one time what I want?

Skye (softly): Yes, you can.

Chase: Really? Looks like I can't after one day of tasks.

Skye: Oh stop it. You should be happy that I found you.

Chase: Again, again someone says to me "I should" (starts whimpering). First I couldn't have my opinion, now I can't have my emotions?

Skye (softly): Oh God! (hugs him)

Chase (whimpering): I couldn't share my opinion to others, I was like... a slave. I had plans this day, to ask Skye out, to have a date with her and finally set out things with Marshall after our argument after talk about feelings. But I also realzied, that I was without mine opinion for whole time!

Skye got completely surprised, not only about a reason of running away but also about feelings to her. She hugged Chase tighter and rubbed her forehead against his chin.

Skye (softly): Right now... what do you want?

Chase (whimpering): I just want to have someone to be with me.

Skye (softly): You already have it. Just look carefully.

Chase looked down and saw Skye hugging him.

Chase: Oh, I didn't see you there. Guess I was lost in my thoughts.

Skye: It's OK. I... Listen. I saw how it hard for you to share your opinion in talk. And I felt... bad for you. You always obeyed someone, just to make them feel safe and happy and now I want to make you feel happy. Just ask me something come on.

Chase: Well... would you... like to go out with... me?

Skye (smiles): I'd love to.

Chase: Let's stay here for a while. I feel a little cold here.

Skye: Ok, no problem.

They stayed under the tree, untill rain stopped and Rubble found them. They got back to the Lookout where Ryder asked forgiveness for his words. Later Skye went on date with Chase, on which they kissed for first time and also Chase improved his self-esteem. THE END!
