A hole in our hearts

As we know, pups from Paw Patrol are great friends and teammates, ready to take care of each other. For Chase who was the leader of pups squad, taking care of his friends and teammates was in first place. At one moment it got more important, because Ryder decided to do a week patrol: each pup in one day should check all town, beach, jungle and Jakes Moutain for danger in each type. For example: Marshall did his day patrol to check if there was a fire. After daily patrol each pup returned to puphouse feeling exhausted and other pups were ready to help to get strength as soon as possible.

Unfortunatelly, Chase was the only pup who didn't get this care from other pups, because he was, like pup said to Ryder, overcaring. How Chase didn't explain to him, the boy was fed up with this and decided to gound Chase from Paw Patrol. But without him it was very hard for other pups to protect the city and they went separate ways. It was 1.5 years ago.

All these memories were flooding Chases mind as he walked on the road. He still couldn't believe that pups would betray him just because of being vey caring for them. Yeah, he was overcaring sometimes and he accepted it, but Ryder and pups were like a family for him. All these 1.5 years after grounding from Paw Patrol Chase lived as a stray pup and was in almost critical coindition: his paws were cold, his fur was a total mess and covered in bruises and cuts, and his mental state was also critical. All pups were angry at him just because he wanted to help them relax, especially Skye, who was the pup Chase loved with all heart. Seeing her face when he was exiting the Lookout made it clear: she doesn't feel the same way, which made him feel even more painful. Later he was walking near house, it was a late night and Chase was feeling hungry and thirsty for 5 days. He noticed a trash can and decided to sleep there. Even with lack of strength he climed in, curled up in ball and fell asleep.

The next day in house near trash can where Chase was sleeping, Skye woke up with feelings of loneliness and guilt. All pups accepted 6 months ago, that they were too harsh for Chase and made him feel angry on him, which was a wrong thought. By the way all pups except her got their girlfriends and boyfriends: Marshall was dating Everest, Zuma with Ella, Rubble with Sweetie and Rocky with Tundra, Everests cousin. While preparing the cup of tea, Skye thought where Chase could be living, maybe he was dead. In trash can Chase also woke up and decided to continue his way. He climed out from can and was ready to go, when Chase saw a familiar pup in window. It was Skye, even more beautiful than before. Knowing that he was very hungry, cold and weak, Chase decided to give Skye a chance. He approached the door and knocked in quietly, but it was enough for Skye to hear. She opened the door and gasped of horror.

Skye (scared): Who... Who are you? W-what do you need?

Chase (weak): You don't remember me, do you?

Skye (scared): N-no, b-but... wait!

Skye started to stare at Chases amber eyes deeply and got completely shocked. It was Chase, who was no longer a formal member of Paw Patrol, but a stray pup.

Skye: Chase? Is that you? (tears up)

Chase (weak): Yeah, it's me. Didn't expect to see me alive?

Skye didn't answer and buried her face into Chases chest crying uncontrolably.  She couldn't believe that the pup she loved and still loves was right in front of her. But after she said him bye-bye in painful way 1.5 years ago with other pups, she knew one thing: she didn't deserve his love.

Skye (crying): I can't believe you came here and survived living like a homeless puppy. We thought you were d-d-dead!

Chase (weak): As you can see, I'm not.

Skye (crying): Come in, I'll give you some food and drink. You must be hungry (starts sobbing heavily).

Chase (weak): 5 days since a food entered my mouth.

Skye let Chase come in and gave him an empty bowl, which soon was full of pup food.

Skye (sobbing): There you go.

Chase ate all food in less than 1 minute. Skye was staring at him, feeling awful: the pup, who she loved came to her house like this. After what she had done to him it was more awful feeling.

Chase (weak): Thank you. Now I need rest. Sorry if I... command you what to do in your house.

Skye (thoughts): I can't stand it. I need to say it!

She then started bawling and buried her face into his chest again.

Skye (bawling): I'm so sorry!!! I'M SORRY!! 

Chase (weak): You're sorry... for what?

Skye (bawling): Don't act stupid Chase!! You know for what I'm sorry!!

Chase (weak): Well... yeah, I know. But it's too late for asking forgiveness from me. I loved you!! So much!! But when you were staring at me by your cold pink eyes, I knew you don't love me! I felt like a whole hole appeared in my heart! And after what did you do 1.5 years ago you finally had courage to say sorry?! When I was almost dead?! Sure, I was too overcaring, but it was because of you, Ryder and pups were a family to me!! You just didn't understand it!!

All these words made Skye bawling even louder. He's changed mentally, it felt clearly.

Skye (bawling): I-I-I...

Now Chase felt, that it was quite too harsh on her and wrapped his paw around her neck.

Skye (bawling): You're so cold. Let's lay on coach.

Chase (weak): Ok.

They laid on coach, Skye on top and got under blanket.

Skye (bawling): What can I do for you, to forgive me? Or I shouldn't expect a chance?

Chase (weak): It was a meltdown. Developed for 1.5 years of living like stray with pain in my heart.

Skye (stops bawling): I didn't get it.

Chase (weak): I want to give you a second chance. But memories made me angry at this piont when you were saying sorry to me. 

Now Chase was tearing up and Skye hugged him.

Skye (hugging him): If you didin't tell me this, I wouldn't understand your pain. Let me help it.

She looked at Chase who had tears in eyes and kissed him on lips. Chase closed his eyes and kissed back, recovering that happy feeling of love. He realized one thing: he was not only one who had a painful hole in heart, Skye also had it and possibly, other pups had it too. 1 minute later they pulled back to catch breath.

Skye (sobbing a little): I love you Chase. And if you don't feel the same way, I'll understand.

Chase (weak): I love you too Skye. To be honest I thought you won't open the door for me.

Skye (stops sobbing): But now you're not longer a stray. You are with me and I'll help you with meltdown problem. Close your eyes and rest. I'll be with you, then we'll take a bath.

Chase (weak and smiles): Like I did to you on winter one year ago, huh?

Skye (giggles a little): Yes.

They rested in coach feeling warmth of each other. Now all issues were fixed and they can start living in happy life. Without hole in their hears. The end!
