Lost part

So, little note before reading: Chase is a 007 pup agent, his friends and Skye know about this and only them. His employeer is his old owner girl, who also loves some spy work. They went through many missions, but one of them had ended tragically! Enjoy one shot, but... don't read it if you're too sensitive! The name of owner is Mary, the name of avenger is Raoul

An injured girl was standing in ruined church as she and her pup Chase went through dangerous mission, which was about seeking revenge for her and agency, but Chase with his new friends and team did everything they could to stop him. They even visited Chases' ex-owners' old house, which was burned down already and Mary could see burning orange colour in sky. During defending in her house, she got a bullet shot from Raoul and tried to escape from him, Chase went to help for her, but got busted a little by Raouls' bodyguards. Mary was in church for 4 minutes, still watching at smoky sky, when the door behind her was opened and Raoul entered church with gun in his hand.

Raoul: Well, miss Mary! It looks like your journey is over.

Mary (weakly): I-i don't think so.

Raoul (chuckles): Really? You are alone now, and nobody will help you now. *loads the gun* Say goodnight.

But just when he was about to shot, a sudden pain filled his mind, which forced him to drop the gun and groan in pain. Mary looked over enemy and saw Chase, who entered the church, panting heavily, as he then saw Raoul who turned around and came towards him.

Raoul (weakly): You little mutt! You got me, urgh!

After these words he fell down breathless. Chase ran quickly to Mary and hugged her tightly, slightly whimpering, because he knew about her injury.

Chase: Everything is over, just wait for Marshall.

Mary (weakly): No, Chase... it's over for me.

Chase: No, no, don't say this. We can go through many obstacles in future *sobs* just stay alive.

Mary (weakly): Too late, Chasey.

Chase (sobbing): No!!

Mary (weakly): Please, accept it. Sure, you can go through new obstacles in future, but without me. But, promise one thing to me.

Chase (sobbing): G-go o-o-on.

Mary (weakly): You told me that Skye reminds you of me.

Chase (sobbing): Yup.

Mary (weakly and smiles): We both know that you love her, just take care of her, ok?

Chase (sobbing): Ok.

With that words Mary closed her eyes with little smile on her face and Chase could barely hold himself from crying. Ryder and pups joined him recently and comforted him, she was a really good friend to them.

5 days later

The funeral of Mary was over and Chase managed to move on from tragic loss, but he kept one thought in his mind: he needed to take care of Skye, for who he confessed feelings just yesterday. It was a true light which came from dark clouds.

Flashback

Chase was laying on his bed with Skye, who came to check on him again. She was really worried for him since he lost a very close member from his old family and was afraid that it'll cause him to quit Paw Patrol. Luckily, Chase calmed everyone down saying that he won't leave them. Now they snuggled into each other as Chase reminded her promise which had one hint.

Mary: We both know that you love her, just take care of her, ok?

Chase then looked at Skye again and sighed, it was the time.

Chase: Erm, Skye.

Skye: Yeah?

Chase: Listen, it's not the... best moment to say it but, I have a crush on you and... if you consider me as a brother, it'll be ok as well.

Skye was speechless, Chase answered on her main question: does he feel the same about her. And seeing him sighing from pressure, like he threw away a hard stone from his soul made her lean and nuzzle his cheek.

Skye (softly): It's alright, I do feel the same about you. 

Chase in response just nuzzled her cheek back as Skye wrapped her paws around him, not wanting to let him go and that's what Skye siad next.

Skye (softly): Just don't leave us, please. Don't leave me.

Chase: Since I have someone to take care again, I never will.

Then he hugged her back, not letting her to ask what he meant and just let herself go, nuzzling his cheek more.

Flashback end

Chase was looking at Big Ben from balcony at his room in hotel, when Skye came to him and sat beside him. Then she laid her head against his shoulder.

Skye: Chase, I need you ask something.

Chase: Well, I need to tell you something as well.

Skye: Heh, well, I wanted to ask about your words last night, about "someone to take care again".

Chase (sighs): Mary was very active girl, who loves adventures and her parents were proud of me, that I was protecting her all the time.

Skye: Oh, you felt guilty when you got abandoned from her?

Chase: Kind of. But then this guilt faded away.

Skye: Why?

Chase: Because of you. You have the same charachter as her: energetic, cheerful, brave. You refilled the lost part of me to be honest.

Skye: Glad I did it (puts her paw over Chases').

Chase then kissed Skyes' forehead which made her smile and rub Chases' chest, in which response Chase put her in front of himself and pulled against his chest.

Chase: I'll never let you go.

Skye: I know... and I love you too.
