Chase was coming home from supermarket as he was carrying two bags of food in quite hard mood: one day which was a week ago, everything turned upside down. He lost all connections with friends and even his girlfriend, because he had lied to hide his weakness, which appeared at same day when his life went from good to bad.

1 week ago

Chase was in hospital, sitting near old woman, who was laying on bed, connected to many machines. The screen was showing her heartbeat and for him it was important that green line on screen won't become straight. But doctors said, that her life was about to end and they couldn't do anything. It was Chases' mother, who was for Chase one of the most important persons in his life, among with Ryder, Marshall and Skye. He was telling her about his successes in his life being Paw Patrol member and after that, making her very happy and live a little bit longer than doctors predicted. However his mother was still getting weaker and weaker untill she could speak barely.

Chases' mother: Son... please... take care of yourself... and friends... you... have... don't look... behind you... never... give up.

Chase: I promise, mom. Everything you said.

Chases' mother: Good... now I can... stop... worrying... about... your... future... I love you... Stay strong.

Chase (sobs): Love you too.

Then he got up from his chair and hugged her for 5 minutes as he heard machine beeping and saw that her heartbeat was gone, she wasn't there anymore since now. Chase sat on chair again and covered his hands over his eyes.

Chase (sobs): Thank you for everything you gave me. Thank you for everything you've done to me.

He cried for 10 minutes as doctors comforted him after that loss. Suddenly, Chase heard his phone buzzing, which made him shocked: he completely forgot about his and Skyes' anniversary. So he quickly exited the hospital and ran to their house, where angry Skye was waiting for him.

Skye: You did it again!! You weren't home for night!! What happened this time?!

Chase was about to say about death of his mother, but he lied to cover his weakness, which made Skye even more angry and 20 minutes later as Chase was sitting on sofa, he saw her with suticases and disappointing look at him.

Skye: I'm moving out from you and I deleted your phone number so don't call me. Bye!

It took 1 hour to make his friends also feel disappointed at him, but Chase kept it in himself, because he had to stay strong. 2 days later, he buried his mom, crying regretfully that he lied to stay strong, which his mom wouldn't approve.

Present time, with Skye

Skye was sitting on terrace drinking some juice as her dad was talking with her, which made her feel annoyed as he was trying to make her talk with Chase.

Skyes' dad: Please, honey. Maybe it wasn't like that as you seemed.

Skye: You mean that he lied to me that day? He wouldn't do that!

Skyes' dad: Maybe he had a reason for that! As you said, he had tear marks all over his face.

Skye: And I said that because of not being home again and destroyng his promise.

Skyes' dad: Still, try to talk with him. I know that deep inside you still love him.

Skye (sighs): Maybe you're right. He was acting differently before and it made me feel worried, like he was cheating on me.

Skyes' dad: Did you think that Chase was cheating on you? I don't believe in this! He'd never do something like this with you.

Skye: Alright alright! I won't call him. I'll visit him.

Skyes' dad: That's even better! Pack up!

3 minutes later Skye was in taxi driving back to Chase, and try to discover the reason of different acting last week. It took 2 hours to get to Adventure Bay and arrive near Chases' house. Suddenly, she saw him sitting on his knees in front of grave, which caused her to stop the car. Then she took out her luggage from taxi, paid the driver and as he drove away, she went to Chase.

Skye (softly): Hey... I'm back.

Chase didn't say anything in response and kept looking at grave. Skye got closer to him and sat on her knees to look at grave. There were some flowers and a photo of young Chase and woman, who was looking similar as Chase. Skye quickly realized that it was Chases' mom as Chase suddenly spoke.

Chase (sighs): She was the reason I wasn't coming home everynight on last week. She did everything that I could have a better future than herself. She was reason of how I met Ryder and created Paw Patrol with him... she was the one who told me to stay strong. I had lied for that and that's how it turned out for me.

Instead of saying something, Skye pulled herself closer to Chase, laying her head on his shoulder and he felt it. Then he took a deep breath and looked at her.

Chase: I'm sorry for not telling you the truth. 

Skye: I'm sorry too... come on, let's go in. You must be hungry.

Chase: I'm not.

Skye (faces Chase): Chase, please stop. You were strong for long time, even too strong. So get up, and come with me.

Chase: Alright.

They stood up and walked back to house, holding each others hands. 

3 hours later

Chase and Skye were sitting on sofa and drinking some tea as he was telling about his mother. Some tissues were laying on table as Chase had a little red eyes and Skye was holding his hand.

Chase: So, what do you want to do now?

Skye: I don't know. All these events made me and you feel uncomfortable to each other. So, I'd like to go somewhere, just a little walk. So we could feel a sparkle again between you and me... and also to show your mother that you're still strong and everything alright.

Chase (smiles a little): I'd love too.

Skye: Good, now come here, my wounded shepherd (giggles).

They kissed each other slowly for 15 seconds and snuggled into each other. The end!
