"Ma'am, please accept me. I can do dishes, I can serve and I can cook, too," pagpupumilit ko.

"We're already full here. Sorry. There's nothing we can do."

"Ma'am please... I—" She closed the door. I sighed in hopelessness.

This is my seventh time in applying for job in café and restaurants, but all of them refused to accept me.

"What now?" I asked myself.

It's 12 noon and my tummy is growling. I haven't eaten yet since in the morning. I look at my wallet. Geez.

I'm going to try again and if they refuse me, uuwi na lang ako at subukan ko na lang ulit bukas.

"Good afternoon, ma'am," a guard greets me, then open the glass door.

"Thank you," I smiled. I went to cashier.

"Good afternoon, ma'am. What's your order?" nakangiting sabi nung babae.

"Uh, I saw on the door that you're looking for a helper here, so I'm applying," nakangiti kong sabi.

"Ah, wait here, then. I'm going to call the manager."

"Okay po."

Like she said, I waited until she came back with a man and I think he's just on his mid 20's.

"She's here, sir," tinuro ako ng babae.

"Good afternoon, sir—"

"What do you know?" he cut me off. His face is serious and his eyes are like stabbing my eyeballs.

"Uh... I can be a waitress. I can also do most of the kitchen chores and I know how to cook, specifically bake," I answered truthfully.

"You can start now," malamig niyang sabi.

Unti-unting lumaki ang mata ko. "Really, sir? Omo! Thank you! Thank you so much," I giggle. I want to scream, but I don't want to cause a scandal.

He just taught me some strategies and what are do's and don't's. Agad ko namang nakuha. I already wore their uniform and who would have thought that they are scouts—laging handa.

"Here's your order, ma'am. Enjoy your meal," I said with a smile after serving their food.

"Wait, are you new here?" a lady asked. I guess, she's in late 20's. "I've been coming here for years and this is the first time I saw your face," she added.

"Yes, ma'am. I'm new here," I answered politely.

"Oh, that makes sense. You're beautiful anyway," she smiled.

"Aww. Thank you, ma'am. You, too. You look beautiful on your dimples," I compliment. Her cheeks flushed. "Excuse me, ma'am," sabi ko at tumalikod na.

The day is almost over. Some of the staffs here complimented me for what I did today and they also introduced their name to me, so I did the same.

I just noticed now that this restaurant is huge and fancy. It opens 24 hours. I just can't believe that I accepted here. Such a great opportunity.
