Jeremy had gotten a face time call from Violet a few hours later, Toni was to afraid to fall asleep. She knew she was safe from her step dad because doctors and nurses were around, but she was still paranoid. "Hey, Violet."
"Hey Jeremy. Where's my daughter?" She sounded worried.
"She's right here, do you want to talk to her?"
"Yes please."
Jeremy handed the phone to Toni, and when Toni saw her mom she began to cry again.
"Aww, baby what's wrong?"
"I-I m-miss you, s-so m-much."
"I can't come home, but what have I told you about walking around at night time, especially in the town we live in, and where was your car?" Her mom wasn't mad at her. She hardly ever got mad, she wanted her daughter to know that it was okay to make mistakes, and that she can trust her.
"I rode with... uhhh...." Toni didn't know what to say because she was in her car driving home. "Stacy.... and she couldn't give me a ride home after...."
"No one else could give you a ride?"
"Well.... uhh..... no." Toni wasn't always the best liar when it came to lying to her mom.
"Next time be more careful, okay? I love you pumpkin, but I have to go now."
"Okay, I love you..." Violet hung up, and she handed the phone back.
"What the hell was that?" Jeremy asked, "stuttering and crying," Jeremy scoffed.
"I miss her... and it's hard to lie to her."
"I don't care."
Toni then realized she didn't have her phone. Mainly because she was in a hospital gown, but it wasn't in her hospital room either. "Where's my phone?"
"I have it. I'm making sure you don't blabber to your mom, or your friends. You'll get it back when your mom comes home."
"But that's two weeks from now. I'm a teenage girl, who could get kidnapped or something, I need it."
"Don't argue with me missy." Jeremy booped her nose.
Toni rolled her eyes, and moved away from his hand. "Don't call me that."
"Don't talk back to me," Jeremy slapped her casted arm.
"Ow, what the fuck, can't you see you hurt me enough. Like can't you see where we are." Toni snapped. She didn't mean too, it just fell out of her mouth.
"Who the fuck are you raising your voice at you little bitch. Yeah, I did this, but do I care? No. Does your mom? No." Jeremy laughed. "You think your mom loves you, HA she doesn't. No one could love a fag like you. Get over it."
Toni caught the tears before they could fall, she thought how could someone marry someone with a kid, and treat them like shit. How could they not treat them like their own?
But this also made her think, what if he was right? Would if no one did love her? I mean she was a bitch at school so they wouldn't care if she died, or got beat up. Hell even some of them would say she deserved it. Did anyone really care about her? She turned away from Jeremy in her bed, and closed her eyes. It was already pretty early in the morning, so she probably wouldn't get much sleep.

"Toni... Toni wake up..." Toni woke up hearing Jeremy's nice voice. It only comes out when other people are around, so she opened her eyes, Sweet Pea was there. How did he know she was in the hospital?
"H-Hey Pea," Toni tried to sit up without hurting herself.
"Holy shit Tiny, what the fuck happened?" He asked.
She looked around, and saw Jeremy sitting next to her. "I... Well... I kinda, uh got into a little fight... with, uh..."
"Speak Tiny." Sweet Pea laughed.
Toni laughed a little. "Someone tried to uh, take my bag, and attacked me."
"Where are they?" Sweet Pea looked so angry, "I will beat there asses."
"Uhh, I-I, didn't c-catch what they looked like..." She looked over at Jeremy, and Sweet Pea noticed.
"Hey, can I have the room, with Toni, alone?"
Jeremy whispered into Toni's ear. "Trust me, I'll know if you say anything."
Toni just nodded, trying to look normal, but Sweet Pea has known her for so long that he knows. Jeremy walked out, and Sweet Pea sat in the chair.
"I know he hit you Toni, and I'm really sorry if I had known I wo-"
Toni just broke down. She hated this, she hated not being able to tell anyone, who would trust her. "Y-You cant d-do anything... I-It's fine.." She said in between sobs.
"Toni, it's not fine. He put you in the hospital, you need to tell someone, like your mom."
"She w-won't believe me. Th-This has b-been going on for th-thirteen years."
"Just text me next time, and I'll be there to protect you..." Sweet Pea was trying to help, and Toni knew that, but then he would know.
"He t-took my ph-phone, and h-he'll know th-that I told you."
Sweet Pea knew there was nothing he could do. "You could stay at my place, just until your mom comes back."
"I-I can't c-contact her." Toni was trying her hardest to stop crying.
"I still have her number..."
"S-Sweets th-theres n-nothing you c-can do. I-I'll be fine. He w-won't kill me."
Meanwhile at school...
"Huh, Topaz isn't here today... Guess the deal would have to wait..." Cheryl said. She had made a deal that by the end of the month if she didn't ask her crush on a date, she would have to do the serpent dance again. She had been crushing on Toni Topaz ever since she moved to Riverdale.
"Just wait, she might show up... Other wise it's the dance..."
"Hey, I'm not ashamed of dancing on the pole, it's just the old men..."
"Yeah Jason. But you wouldn't know because you've never done it." Veronica laughed.
"Hey, I had to get punched a lot, chill."
"I could take a few punches." Cheryl raised a brow.
"Same." Veronica agreed.
"Whatever you get the point."
"Uh, no we don't."
Jason just shrugged and walked to class, Cheryl and Veronica had gym, and Betty was absent because she had to take care of her mom.
