From Different Worlds

Chapter 32

The next few weeks, it became a normal thing for Betty, and Veronica to sleep over. It was like the four girls thing, except one problem. Betty had a tendency to hog the bed, so Cheryl wanted to ask her parents a question.

"Hey dad..." Cheryl walked into his office. Jeshua worked from home.

"Hey, sweetie."

"I was wondering if...since my grades have been up, and I haven't done anything stupid these last few weeks, maybe I could get a bunk bed?"

"Like a whole other bunk bed, or one to replace your bed?"

"A whole other one. Me and Toni could have my bed, while betty and Veronica can have the bunks..."

"Sure."

"Really?!" Cheryl squealed excitedly.

"Yeah, why not." Jeshua shrugged.

"Guys..." Veronica jumped off the top bunk.

"There's a ladder for a reason, V." Betty said.

"We should watch a scary movie." Toni was scrolling through netflix.

"No!" Veronica and Betty blurted at the same time. Cheryl looked embarrassed.

"Why?"

"Cheryl is afraid." Veronica teased.

"What no I'm not." Cheryl scoffed.

"We don't have to watch it.." Toni said quietly.

Next thing you know the girls are watching 'it' and Cheryl would do anything to get out of it. But she wouldn't let anyone know that. Cheryl wasn't always scared of scary movies, but what happened was...Heather would force Cheryl to watch numerous scary movies, and then lock her in a dark room for hours all alone. She wouldn't sleep for days after that. Then Heather would do it again, it almost felt as if it was happening every week, but Cheryl didn't know. Heather never gave her the time or day.

Veronica was laying on the foot of the bed, Betty was sitting on top of her, Cheryl was laying against the headboard, and Toni was in between her legs, laying against her.

Once the movie was over, the girls decided to go to bed. Cheryl didn't know if she'd be able to sleep.

A few hours passed, and everyone was asleep. Except Cheryl. She was to scared to fall asleep. Of course Toni was holding her close as she slept, but she still couldn't do it. Toni groaned in her sleep making Cheryl jump. "Babe?" Toni whispered.

"Y-Yeah?"

"Are you okay?"

"Y-Yeah, I'm f-fine."

Toni sat up, and looked at her. "Why aren't you sleeping?"

"No reason."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah, Toni I'm fine."

"Okay." Toni laid back down, and Cheryl laid her head on Toni's chest. "I love you." She whispered.

"I love you." Cheryl closed her eyes, but the image of that stupid clown kept popping up, so she kept her eyes open. "Toni?" She whispered.

Toni hummed in response. She was basically asleep.

"I'm scared." Cheryl looked around, eyes stopping at her closet.

"Babe..." Toni sighed. "There's nothing to be afraid of. It's not real."

"But whats that in the closet?"

"Cheryl, it's probably clothes, now close your eyes, and go to sleep."

The figure moved closer, and closer, until it stopped. "BOO!" Jason yelled. Cheryl screamed at the top of her lungs.

"JASON WHAT THE FUCK!"

Toni, and the two other girls jumped up.

Jason fell to the ground laughing. He couldn't even get a sentence out.

"Jason!" Toni yelled.

Veronica started laughing. "Okay, that was kinda funny you have to admit."

"Jason!" Jaime, and Jeshua yelled. "Are you responsible for that deathly scream we heard?"

"Okay look...Cheryl watched a scary movie, and she's scared of them, so I wanted to scare her." Jason continued to laugh.

Cheryl stayed quiet. No one knew the real reason...

"Everyone, back to bed...Now." Jaime stated.

"Fine." Jason huffed walking back to his room.

Cheryl just laid down, and looked at the ceiling.

It was now morning time, and Cheryl hadn't slept at all. She didn't know why, she wasn't alone, or in a super dark room, it was just a stupid movie, and she knew it wasn't real. Toni began to stir, and opened her eyes. "Babe, when did you wake up?" She asked, her voice raspy from just waking up.

"Yesterday morning..." Cheryl whispered.

"What?!" Toni whispered yelled.

"I need to tell you something..." Cheryl sighed. Toni nodded for her to go on. "It's just...Heather used to force me to watch scary movies, at the time I wasn't scared of them, so it didn't matter. But, after she would lock me in a dark room...alone. I didn't sleep, and just became scared..."

"Why didn't you tell anyone?"

"Because I was embarrassed..."

Toni opened her arms, and Cheryl cuddled into her. Cheryl yawned and closed her eyes...dozing off to sleep.

Of course Jason stormed into the room waking her up, she was asleep for less than five minutes.

"Don't you ever knock. I just got Cheryl to sleep." Toni sighed.

"What?" Jason furrowed her eyebrows.

Veronica sat up, while Betty just slept.

"Cheryl didn't sleep all night." Toni looked over at Cheryl who had a pillow over her face.

He laughed. "Aww, wittle Cher Bear is scared of a movie.

Cheryl chucked the pillow at him.
