Chapter 38

"Ugh, I'm so done today." Toni sighed, and plopped down next to Cheryl. They were in Toni's bedroom, and they had just gotten out of school an hour ago.

"What happened?" Cheryl asked.

"Okay, so on Sunday instead of spending it with you, I have to get up early and go to the office because my speech therapist cancelled. So instead of Monday I'm going on Sunday. And on top of that, Midge, and Tina were being assholes, and bullying me for my aphasia."

"They what?" Cheryl was mad.

"It's fine. Plus while we're living luxury in twenty years, they'll be scrubbing toilets."

"Probably..." Cheryl sighed. "Can we go to the park?"

"Sure."

They began to walk to the park, but when they crossed the street...

"TONI!" Cheryl screamed, and pushed Toni.

Toni looked back, and Cheryl was on the ground bleeding. She couldn't even tell where it was coming from. "CHERYL!" She called 911, and ran by here. "Cheryl! Cheryl wake up."

Cheryl hummed, and was falling in and out of consciousness.

"C'mon baby. The ambulance is gonna be here soon, just stay awake."

Cheryl opened her eyes, and looked at Toni. "Toni?" She rasped out.

"I'm right here, just stay awake.

Meanwhile...

"SWEET PEA!" Jason yelled. "TURN AROUND, AND SEE WHO YOU HIT!"

"Oh my god, oh my god..."

"I THINK THAT WAS CHERYL, TURN AROUND!"

Sweet Pea, turned around, and drove back.

"WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU! YOU JUST HIT SOMEONE AND DRIVE OFF?!"

"Jason calm down, were going back." Sweet Pea honestly didn't know what just happened.

"DON'T TELL ME TO FUCKING CALM DOWN!"

Once they got back to the sight, Jason saw Cheryl. "Oh my god!"

"Jason?!" Toni yelled.

"Sweet Pea hit her. Oh my god." Jason ran by his sister's side. "Did you call 9-"

The ambulance arrived, and put Cheryl in the stretcher. Sweet Pea turned himself in, and they took him in for questioning.

Cheryl woke up, in a hospital bed. Toni was next to her in an armchair asleep, and her mom was in the other. She looked down, and her leg was in a cast, as well as her arm. "Fuck."

"Cheryl...your awake." Jaime smiled. "We need to tell you something..."

Toni woke up, and you can tell she had been crying. She gasped lightly when she saw Cheryl was awake. "Hey, Cher."

"Hi..." Cheryl sighed. "What the hell happened?"

"About that..." Jaime began. "Apparently the person who hit you, had a few drinks before driving...he was going super fast, and hit you, drove away, and drove back...Jason was with him." She said the last part quietly.

"Who the fuck hit me then?" Cheryl was getting angry than she already was. How was Jason in the car with him. Why would he let the person drive?

Toni took a deep breath. "Sweet Pea. Jason said he tried to convince him out of it, but he wouldn't."
