From Different Worlds

Chapter 28

It had been a couple of days, and Cheryl was missing a lot of school. She didn't want to go back, and see Toni, she couldn't. Jason, Jeshua, and Jaime were trying to convince her to go, but she never complied.

"Cher, get up." Jason said sternly.

"I don't feel like it." Cheryl rolled over, to face away from him.

"I don't care, now get your ass up before I drag you out of bed myself."

"Fine."

Cheryl got ready for school, and walked down stairs. Her eyes were puffy, and she had big bags under them, but she didn't care. She wore a black graphic tee, with a white shirt with black strips underneath. She had ripped jeans, and black converse. She put her red serpent jacket on, not caring about the stupid rule at school, and just walked out with out eating breakfast. She called Betty, and Veronica, and told them she'd be going to school today.

She got to school, and sat in the student lounge with Betty, and Veronica. She wasn't talking, she was just keeping quiet. That is until Sweet Pea came over.

"Blossom, the jacket." He looked her up and down. "Your not allowed to wear it."

"Fuck off ass hat." Cheryl narrowed her eyes.

"I heard you broke Topaz's heart. I knew dating a south sider wasn't a good idea."

"You don't fucking know what your talking about." Cheryl was on the edge. She was about to just sock him in the face. Then the bell rang. "Your fucking lucky the bell just saved your ass."

Meanwhile, on the other side of school, Toni Topaz wasn't doing so good. She kicked Peaches off her squad a few weeks ago, but now she was regretting it.

"I heard your south side bitch can't protect you anymore." Peaches was pacing in front of Toni, while Ginger and Tina held her up against the wall. They were way stronger than she was, and were beating her up. "Now, we get to do what ever we want." Peaches laughed. Toni was flailing her legs trying to get free.

"Y'know, I haven't forgotten about all the shit, you put us through." Ginger added.

Peaches pulled out a pocket knife. Toni's eyes went wide. "Peaches...Please don't." Toni breathed heavily. "Please, you can have your spot on the squad again. I'll do anything please."

"Sorry for this." Peaches slit Toni's eyebrow.

Toni screamed. They were in the girls locker room. Cheryl's english class was near there, and she just so happened to be walking past when she heard a deadly scream. She burst through the door. "What the hell is going on in here?!"

Tina and Ginger dropped Toni down on the ground, and Toni was crying.

"You have five seconds to get the fuck out, before I beat all of your asses."

Ginger and Tina walked passed her, but when Peaches did Cheryl slammed her against the wall, and put her pocket knife to her throat. "If you ever touch Toni again, I will fucking kill you. You got it?"

Peaches shook her head, and Cheryl pushed her to the ground before walking to Toni, and pulling her up to her feet.

"W-Why did y-you do th-that?" She asked.

"I'm not a complete asshole Topaz. Let's go to the nurse." Cheryl grabbed paper towels and held them to her eyebrow. They walked to the nurses office, and sat down. Well Cheryl waited till the nurse came and began to walk out

"Your leaving?" Toni asked.

"Well...yeah. Unless you want me to stay?"

"Y-Yeah."

"Okay."

It was lunch time now, and the Serpents sat at their usual table. Occasionally Toni would look at Cheryl, but Cheryl never looked back. "Toni what happed to your eyebrow?" Sweet Pea asked.

Toni didn't want to tell him. Mainly because Cheryl already took care of it. "Oh...uh, I fell, and bumped my head."

"Oh..."

Gosh, Toni hated this. She missed Cheryl so much. All she wanted to do was kiss those soft pink lips.

Violet and Toni weren't on good terms, obviously. She hadn't talked to her mother the whole time her and Cheryl have been broken up. She was super mad at her. Who wouldn't be if their mother made them break up with the love of their life. She still didn't know what was going on with her mother either. Her mom just totally flipped, she used to be kind, and didn't care who Toni dated as long as she was happy, but now she's rude, and wants to make her life a living hell.

Cheryl had been trying to suppress her feelings until she went to bed. She either cried in the shower, or into her pillow. Only five people have ever seen her cry. Betty, Veronica, Heather, Toni, and Jason. Cheryl thought that it was silly to open up to Toni like that. Knowing she probably was planning on breaking her heart anyways.

"I saw you walking with Topaz, what the hell happened?" Veronica asked.

"Peaches was being an ass, and cut a slit into her eyebrow."

"And you helped?" Betty and Veronica were really protective over Cheryl, as besties should be. I mean after Heather they don't want to take any risks.

"Well yeah. She broke my heart, but I'm not gonna watch her get cut, and not do anything about it."

They nodded. Veronica and Betty obviously wanted to get back at Toni, but Cheryl specifically told them not to be mean to her.

Cheryl did miss Toni obviously. She loved her, opened up to her, she was vulnerable around her. Not that many people get to know her like that, and she really thought it was different with Toni. She felt it. But I guess her feeling was wrong, maybe there not meant to be together. Maybe they weren't soulmates after all.
