From Different Worlds

Chapter 4

"Toni, get your happy ass out here, now!" Jeremy yelled through the door.

"What if I don't?" Toni didn't know where all this confidence was coming from.

"Well, your friend Sweet Pea will pay the price."

"Haha, funny joke. Sweet Pea is way bigger than you, good luck." Toni laughed. She was also scared though. The more she hides from him, the more her punishment will be. Also, she didn't want to drag Sweet Pea into this, he was like a brother to her, and she will never forgive herself if he got hurt because of her. "Keep him out of this."

"Well, if you come out, I will force you out."

"I came out to you and mom a long time ago."

"Stop being a smart ass, and so help me god I will knock this door down myself."

Toni was debating her options. She could either:

a) go out and get her ass beat

b) let him yell and scream until her mom comes home, and risk him doing something to Sweet Pea.

Option A makes sure no else gets hurt but her, the problem with that though means she has to make up a story to tell her mom.

Option B means waiting, but she doesn't know what he'll do to Sweet Pea. Would he actually go to that extent just to hurt her?

She got the confidence to walk out, and face the consequences. Once she was out of her room, she saw Jeremy standing there with a belt. "Hey honey. I see your finally out of your room. Today we are gonna have some fun." He said snapping the belt to make a loud noise.

Toni stayed quiet, she backed up slowly until her back hit the wall behind her. She could tell Jeremy was a little tipsy, she could see it in his eyes.

"Yeah, were not playing hide and seek today... Today were playing, how long can Toni go without screaming..." He smirked evilly, as he hit her with the belt. Toni yelped. "One point for me." He laughed, as she fell to the ground. Toni was already crying, as he hit her again, and again. "Toni, you really suck at this game..."

Toni was screaming at the top of her lungs.

"Toni. Shut. The. Fuck. Up." He said slapping her after every word.

"P-Please..." Toni cried. "S-Stop."

Jeremy grabbed Toni by the hair, threw her into her room, and slammed the door. Toni cried. Hard. She thought no one loved her, they may say it, but they'll never mean it. That is until her phone buzzed.

"Toni, I'm home!" Toni heard Violet yell. She then heard a knock at the door. She quickly wiped her tears.

"Come in..."

"Hey, sweetie, were you crying?" Violet's eyebrows furrowed.

"I-....Uh-......No."

"Really? Toni, I know when your lying, you can talk to me? What's up?"

"I just-" Toni saw Jeremy standing in the door way. "I just... tripped. On my way into my room... and it hurt, really bad." Toni looked away.

"Oh, are you okay?"

"Now I am, yes."

"Okay. Well Jeremy wants to order pizza, does that sound good, or did you already eat while I was gone."

Toni wasn't really in the mood to eat anything. She was hungry, but she didn't want to sit at a table with Jeremy. "No, I'm okay, order what you want." Toni laid down, and turned away from her mother.

Violet knew something was off, she walked out of the room, and closed the door. "Something is off." She told Jeremy.

"What?" He asked, acting like he didn't know.

"Toni, she's acting weird."

Toni was happy as a little girl. Almost all the pictures of when she was younger she was smiling. Like really smiling. That is until she married Jeremy. Violet had always thought that it was because Jeremy wasn't her dad, and needed some time to get used to, but that never happened. Violet had a thought, but she didn't think it was true. It couldn't be true. But, at the same time, the more time she thinks about it, it could risk Toni's health.

"How about Pop's tonight at 6?" Cheryl asked Toni.

"Like a date?"

"Yes, exactly like that..."

"Sure, I'll be there."

"Great!" Cheryl said excitedly. She skipped down the hall, looking for her brother to tell him the news.

"Hey, Cher, what's got you all happy?" Jason asked.

"Toni said yes. To the date. No serpent dance for me."

"Fuck, what do you want me to do?" He asked.

"You strip."

"What?! Cheryl I'm a dude."

"Okay, and? Men can strip too. Plus, you have to so, I'll see you at the wyrm before my date." Cheryl smirked.

Jason groaned at went to class.
