"I have to go," I sighed after reading the message my mum sent me. "My parents want me home."
"But you're still not fully healed." Dominic frowned.
"Yeah, but they want me home. I'm the only one that works and, as my mum said, 'the bills don't pay themselves.'"
"Fuck the bills," Dominic grumbled. "You're injured for fuck sake, you can't work! You were attacked just two days ago and just yesterday we found out you got an infection!"
"Don't worry, I'll take care of the infection." I smiled. "My mum says they fixed the place up already so they're asking for all the workers to come back. Anyway, I'll only get into bigger trouble if I stay longer. I appreciate your worry, but trust me I can take care of myself."
After that, he stayed silent, only offering to walk me back to my house, but I politely declined which only earned me a deep frown that wouldn't leave his face even after he walked me down to the front door.
"Are you sure you're going to be alright?" He asked with his frown still etched on his face, his dark brown eyes filled with worry.
"Yeah," I nodded.
"Alright," he sighed, rubbing a hand down his face. "But make sure to let your boss know when you need to take a break if you're in pain and for the love of Goddess, don't stay after hours again."
"I won't," I chuckled.
"Good," he said, the corners of his mouth turning up ever so slightly. If you were walking by him you wouldn't notice, but if you were face to face to him like I was, you could tell. "I'll come to pick you up tomorrow at your usual time then."
"Oh, that's okay, I can walk I don't-"
"No buts," he cut me off, glaring down at me. "I'm picking you up and that's that, don't even try to argue me on this."
"I'll see you tomorrow then," I laughed gently, secretly grateful I would have both a ride and company to and from work.
"See you tomorrow," he nodded, coming even closer to me than he already was, so much so that our chests almost touched.
He bent down slightly and pressed his lips to my forehead, before stepping back to his previous position. My face burnt up from the small, delicate gesture and Dominic smirked down at me, with clear amusement in his eyes at seeing my flustered reaction.
I turned around, beginning my walk home which was only minutes away from the Pack House when Dominic called out to me again. I stopped in my tracks and peered over my shoulder curiously.
"Don't stay up too late thinking about me," he winked, a devilish smirk plastered on his face.
"You wish," I chuckled.

I haven't even been home for five minutes and I already regret coming home. I didn't even bother listening to why they're having a go at me this time and instead decided to admire the lovely blank white wall behind my fathers head.
What should I have for dinner? I'm in the mood for a good burger, or four. But that means I would also have to make some for my parents and they'd probably want three or four too.
