After Jordan told me about how my brother may be involved with the attack on Shay at the cafe, I immediately called a meeting with my parents and close circle of warriors which included both Jordan and my Delta, Jake. So, now we were all sitting around a round table in my dad's old study which was recently renovated into a meeting room.

"I'm just going to cut to the chase of why I brought you all here," I stated. "Long story short, to those that didn't already know, I've found my mate."

I paused while my trusted warriors and Delta said their congratulations and waited for them to settle down again before continuing.

"However, recently he was attacked at his workplace and Jordan has brought it to my attention that the men who attacked my mate were a part of my brother's pack, the Silver Claw pack." I finished.

My parents' eyes widened as everyone in the room immediately began asking questions over each other, my parents clearly panicked and worried that their elder son would do this.

"Quiet down," I ordered. "I know it's not completely proven and may or may not be true but for now, it's still a possibility which means he is not to be trusted for the time being."

"But why would Owen do this?" My mother asked with a deep frown. "I mean, how could he have even known Shay was your mate?"

"That's what we want to find out," Colt spoke up. "I think this comes to a shock to us all, but we can't rule him out until we have concrete evidence that Owen hasn't done it."

"Which is why I've assembled this meeting," I said, looking at my five most trusted warriors. "I need you to be on the lookout for any trespassers in the pack, we need to start stricter border patrols. From now on, no one is allowed to enter or leave the pack until this is all over. This may turn to something bigger, even if it's not Owen who ordered this somebody is still trying to go after my mate, your soon-to-be Luna. If you find something, anything you come straight to me. Is that understood?"

They all nodded in understanding before I quickly dismissed them, now only left with my parents, Beta and my Delta.

"Do you really believe Owen was capable of doing this?" My mum asked in a hushed tone, looking towards me.

"I don't know," I sighed. "But we can't just dismiss that his men were the ones to attack Shay, so, for now, he's going to be our main suspect."

"I can't believe this," my mum huffed, standing up and quietly leaving the room.

We stayed in silence for a while before my dad quickly apologised and left the room behind her to see if she was alright.

I don't blame them, I wouldn't want to believe that my child if I had one, would want to hurt someone. I'd be pretty upset too, I mean it's your child of course you wouldn't believe they would want to send out a group to attack someone.

"What do you want us to do, Dom?" Jordan asked, bribing me out of my thoughts to look at him.

"I want you two to do the same, but I mainly
want you to focus on watching over Shay," I explained. "Make sure he's okay at all times and that he's monitored, report anything unusual, you know the drill."

"I really can't think of Owen as someone who would want to hurt another's mate, much less his own little brother's," Jake spoke up.

"Neither can I but, as I said, we can't rule anyone out." I shrugged. "If it was him then we will eventually get our questions answered."

They nodded their heads in agreement and I quickly dismissed them. Once the door shut behind the both of them I sighed heavily, rubbing the back of my shoulders and neck to relieve myself from the stress.

I hated to accuse my older brother of something like this, it was unimaginable that he would want to hurt my mate, or me. He's always been a kind soul, willing to help others where needed and he often stood up against me when we were young from all the others who picked on me because of my small size at the time.

"Don't fret little bro," he used to say with a big toothy grin. "One day, you're going to grow taller than all of them and they're going to be begging on their knees for forgiveness."

And he was right.

Like he always was.

It only took a few years after that until my growth spurt began and I hit my mid-teen years when I indulged myself in nothing but the gym. Just like Owen said, they ran towards me, begging me to sit with them at lunch. Now that I was the attractive friend that could get them all the girls, was the time they found they needed me.

It would just be us at lunchtimes with Jordan, just the three of us, and not long after Owen introduced us to Jake - the shortest of our group and the second quietest, after me. It turns out he was just shy but once we all got used to the new addition to our group he quickly climbed out of his shell and we learnt he was an incredibly sweet guy.

Jake was the one guy I could always go to whenever I had problems because he never told anyone, he just listened.

There were many times where I didn't know who else to turn to and he'd take me to a quiet room, shut the door behind us and he gives me his shoulder to cry on. He would rub my back and wait for me to calm down before asking what happened.

All in all, Jake was a great guy. I didn't even know he was supposed to be my Delta until our dads introduced us to each other two years into our friendship. Now I proudly call him a member of my family.

I stood up from my desk, leaving the study and heading into my bedroom. Shutting the door behind me, I quickly undressed into nothing but my boxers and plopped onto my bed and crawled under my duvets.

As I was drifting off, I felt like I was missing something. I felt... lonely. It feels depressing and empty being in my king-size bed all alone. All alone with the plushies, we got earlier today, another reminder that he wasn't here with me now.

I grabbed my phone off my bedside table, half-asleep already, and texting a quick goodnight text to Shay. I waited a few minutes, staring at my screen in silence before deciding I was too tired to stay awake any longer. I rolled over onto my side and grabbed two of the plushies, desperate for some sort of affection, and cuddling them.

Dallas purred sleepily at the strong smell of Shay that still lingered on all the plushies from when he held them earlier. I started dozing off again, finally content that Shay's scent was around me.

Before I slipped into unconsciousness, I heard a ping from beside my bed.
