With each video, I contemplated not watching it. The thumbnails were enough to show the awful things Shay was being put through. Jasper made sure to send a video every day. Sometimes even two a day and this had been going on for three days now. I had to put a stop to it. The most recent one, however, sent me into an uncontrollable, violent rage.
I watched each second that Jasper's whip smacked down onto Shay's back, my mate helpless screaming on the floor. You could see through the recording that Shay's shirt was soaked with blood. His white shirt turned crimson. As the video played more, my rage only grew. The screaming had stopped and now my poor mate's body turned to only flinches and grunts of pain with tears rolling down his cheeks.
His eyes were desperate to get away while Jaspers were the opposite, filled with a manic glint that showed he enjoyed this. He enjoyed putting my mate through that pain and suffering because he knew I was suffering because of it. He knew he could do anything he wanted because I wasn't there to kill him and protect Shay.
Once the video ended, I was at a loss. I sunk further into my office sofa, staring at the ceiling feeling powerless.
There was physically nothing the rest of us could do to search for Shay and Trinity other than aimlessly wandering the woods and hoping to catch their scent trails. The one's from the parking lot where the two had been abducted was already faded. After we found their scent we searched endlessly for hours around the surrounding areas to see if we could pick their scent up. However, the harsh fumes of the city life were too strong for us to pick anything up again. Our noses could only go so far.
The interesting thing was we hadn't seen anything about Trinity, which was incredibly concerning. She could already be dead. But on the other hand, she was Jasper's mate; why would he kill her? Maybe he was just keeping her in captivity perhaps so that she couldn't snitch on them. Or maybe she too was being tortured but not to the larger extent of Shay.
Either way, I was severely concerned about the both of them. Shay was now just as much like my family as Trinity was.
An idea popped into my head. It just might work in figuring out where they were. I sprang up from the sofa, hurrying out of the room and searching the house for both my parents. I found them talking in the kitchen, each with a coffee mug in their hand.
"Hey, mum, dad?"
They both turned to me. "What's up, sweetheart?"
"Do you know anyone in the pack who's an expert at computers or hacking or literally anything to do with technology?"
"Why? What are you planning on doing?" My father frowned.
"I'll explain it in a minute," I said. "Please just tell me."
They glanced at each other, thinking about it when my mother spoke up.
"We know someone," she nodded.
"Take me to them."
They led me out of the cabin over to the pack borders where four of our warriors stood keeping guard.
"Reece, a minute please?" My mother spoke.
One of the four turned over to us, a worried expression on his face. He was the shortest of the group with dark shoulder-length hair and rectangle glasses. He walked over to us despite his worried expression and bowed in respect.
"What can I help with?" He asked as he rose back up again, looking between my parents and me.
"My mother tells me you're good with computers," I announce. "That true?"
He hesitated before slowly nodding his head, a bead of sweat forming on his forehead.
"You're not in trouble," my mother smiled towards him.
"Oh."
"Do you know how to track someone's location through an attachment or contact?" I asked.
"Yes, though I've only done it a handful of times."
"But if I asked you to track someone's location, you'd be able to do it?"
He nodded.
"Good, 'cause that's exactly what I need you to do."
He frowned. "Can I ask what for, Alpha? I just like to know what I'm getting myself into."
"I'm sure you've heard my mate going missing," I explain. "Along with my sister. Well, the person who supposedly has them has been sending me messages every day. So, I was thinking that if you can work your tech magic and track down the precise location of where the messages are being sent from then Shay can come home."
"I understand," he spoke. "I'm truly sorry about Luna and your sister."
I nodded, not knowing what else to say.
"I'll get started right away, I'll meet you back at the packhouse when I get the precise location. But I must warn you this will take a while."
I nodded and he scurried away after I handed him my phone. I figured I didn't need to worry about him figuring out my password since he could just hack into it. My parents and I went back to the packhouse to wait for Reece.
"Goddess I hope this works," I mumbled.
