"Come on, Shay, get up." I sighed for what seemed to be the a hundredth time within the last hour.

"No." He groaned, rolling over to his other side and pulling the covers over his head.

"It's three o'clock in the afternoon and I need to check your wounds."

"Fuck off, I'm hibernating," he mumbled.

I rolled my eyes, chuckling at his newly found childish behaviour that I found adorable, hilarious and irritating all at once. He dozed into a quiet sleep once again and I stood there dumbfounded at how I could wake him up. That was until Dallas gave me the most genius idea.

I crawled into bed, cuddling him from behind making him instantly scoot backwards until his back was pressed against my chest. I almost completely abandoned my plan of waking him up and just stay all day in bed snuggled up with him, until I remembered that I needed to check his wounds and replace his bandages.

With that thought replaced, I snaked my hand under the duvet and slowly around his waist, making sure to softly grip the skin that was left exposed by his rolled-up shirt.

He moaned quietly in his sleep, pressing himself even closer to me making me smirk like a madman. I snuck my hand under his baggy shirt, which was mine, and guided my hand further up his chest, past his bandages, until my fingers made contact with his hard nipples. I started stroking and squeezing them softly but seeing as this wasn't waking him up still, I pressed myself closer to him and started sucking and biting on his earlobes. His entire body tensed up and his eyes flew wide open with a blush coating his cheeks.

"Decided to finally wake up, Princess?" I smirked.

"Shut up," he grumbled, pushing himself away from me in embarrassment and sitting up against the bed frame.

I copied his actions, sitting beside him and staring with lustful eyes as he adjusted himself under the duvet with blazing red cheeks, not even looking at me.

"As much as I would love to stare at you all day, especially with that cute blush, we really need to check your wounds." I said. "How are they feeling?"

He finally looked my way, meeting those dark ocean eyes with my own brown ones.

"N-not the best," he revealed while fidgeting with his fingers. "It hurts like a bitch, but I think that's just the painkillers wearing off."

I frowned at this, not liking the news. The last thing we needed was for his wound to get worse and get a possible infection. I silently left the bedroom, walking into my bathroom and grabbing a few things I would need to check and clean the wound.

Once I had them I walked back into the room and asked Shay to lay down on his back, which he did so without complaint. I lifted his shirt up, with a little help from Shay, and gently took off his bandages, making sure to not hurt him or possibly reopen his stitches. He winced and hissed as the bandages got stuck against his skin but I managed to get it off as painfully as I could.

My eyes widened at the sight of his injury. It was visibly swollen, the whole area around his wound was bright red and when I touch his skin it was warm, not to mention that it was bleeding slightly. None of these were good signs.

"What's up?" Shay asked, his frown matching my own.

I don't answer, instead my frown intensifies as I reach out a hand to touch his forehead, which was burning hot.

"Why didn't you tell me you were burning up?" I exclaimed angrily.

His eyes grew wide with a hint of surprise and hurt, I hadn't meant it towards Shay, I was just scared - although I wouldn't admit it out loud. He was clearly unwell and he hadn't bothered to tell me about it, especially when he knows we have people here who can help him.

"I-I honestly didn't really think anything of it, I just thought that it was maybe because the room was too hot or that I was just I don't know, flustered from the pain." He admitted truthfully while trying to sit up but hissing in pain when he did.

I quickly brought him into my arms and carried him bridal style out of the room and into the infirmary. But when I arrived the room was completely empty and there was no sign of Terrance, even after calling his name several times. I growled out of frustration and trying to mind-link Terrance but getting no reply.

"Son, what's wrong?" Came my dads voice from behind me.

I turned around to see his confused and concerned face with my mum beside him sharing the same look as they looked between my mate and I. As much as I would usually be nervous about my parents suspecting something, I knew that even if they had a suspicion of us they would be accepting of us, they've always let me know that no matter who I liked they would forever love me. But right now wasn't time to think about their thoughts, I had to worry about my mate who was burning up more and more by the minute.

"I think he's got an infection and I need Terrance to take a look at it or something but the bastard isn't here," I hissed in frustration.

"Let me take a look at him," my mum offered with her usual kind smile.

I nodded, my worries calming down slightly that someone was finally able to help him, and someone that I trusted too. My mum was an amazing person as well as Luna, she would help as many pack members as she could when they needed it. This was mainly due to her previously being a pack doctor before she met my dad, so she knew a hell of a lot of things about medicine related things.

I walked over to an empty bed and placed Shay down as carefully as I could. My mum walked over to the opposite side of the bed from where I was and lifted Shay's shirt up to examine the wound. She stared at it for a while, touching the area around the wound here and there with a small frown etched on her face before sighing and standing up straight to look at the both of us.

"He's got symptoms of an infection, I'm guessing it's from how deep the slash is so you're going to need to take extra care of it," she looked down at Shay, who nodded understandingly. "If you start seeing any puss or more bleeding you need to come back and see either me or Terrance. For now, I'm going to just give you some painkillers but you must make sure you clean the wound every few hours."

While my mum continued to bombard Shay with information, Jordan's voice popped up through our mind link.

"I found one of the guys that was there with you guys yesterday, he's up in the attic with me." He informed me.

"That's great but how'd you get him up there?" I questioned.

"Knocked him out and carried him up, how else was I mean to do it?" I could hear the smirk in his voice as he talked.

"You're gonna get me into so much trouble one day," I sighed. "If their Alpha finds out, Goddess knows what'll happen. Are you asking for a war? You're my Beta, I expected you to be smarter than this."

"Alright, alright! No need to guilt trip me, jeez. And that's IF they find out about this, but seriously what else did you want me to do? The guy was being a pain in the ass so I did the only thing I could think of!" Jordan exclaimed in defence.

"Righhht... Remind me how you became my only friend AND Beta?"

"Probably best that you don't remember that..." He chuckled nervously.
