Shay Kingsley

"Where are we going?" I ask through laughs.

"You'll see," Dom replied.

His hands were covering my eyes, not letting me see where we were going he said it was a 'surprise.' I hated surprises. Dom didn't know that, but I did I despised them. I liked knowing that was going on and things like this made me severely anxious and well I start overthinking.

Just overall not a fun experience. It's made worse when I have no idea where the hell I'm going or what's in front of me.

"Swear to Goddess if you're taking me into an alleyway or something to murder me I won't be happy."

"Why would I kill you?" Dom scoffed. "Use your ears, where are we?"

I listened in on the sounds around me. The tree branches swayed against one another in the wind, the owls in the trees hooting and flapping their wings. Other wildlife scurrying through the woods, our footsteps most likely being the source of their disruption.

"The forest," I said. "Dom, just tell me where we're going I'll turn around or something before we get there but this is killing me. What if I trip over a log or-"

"We're here."

His hands let go of my face, my vision clearing up a bit before I could fully see where we were. I gasped.

It was the clearing in the woods with the cliff where we had first met, but not just the clearing. It was decorated with all sorts of lights to brighten up the place against the night sky. Fairy lights were wrapped around tree barks and they were strung above us, weaving from one tree branch to another on the opposite side of it. There were also these cute little lanterns in glass cages that hung around the place, off of branches and some even on the floor around us.

But among all of that, there was a picnic blanket and basket right in the centre of it all. The finishing touch wasn't even something that Dom had done but it was the moon and stars that looked down over everything. It just made it that little bit more special and magnificent.

"You did all this?" I turn to him.

"I got a little help from a few people but yes, I did it while you were still sleeping."

I turn back around, glancing around the place as I strode around, trying to see the area from every possible direction.

"I know it's not all that special but, well, my mother actually had the idea to do this. Since she met my dad at this same spot she thought it would be a nice touch to relax after everything that's happened." He explained. "And I'm aware that picnics are usually for daytime but I thought it would be more fitting to do it at night. And peaceful."

I was in awe, I didn't know what to say or how to say what I wanted to say. Dom sat down on one end of the blanket and I joined him on the other end.

"Maybe I should've thought the whole 'sitting on the ground thing' a little better," he chuckled as he glanced over to me hissing in lain as I sat down.

I was still sore from earlier. We did it a couple more times after we marked each other and although it was amazing, unlike anything I had experienced before. It was still painful. The only reason we stopped was that a.) we were both becoming extremely exhausted and b.) Terrance came pounding at the door screaming that I was missing again.

After that, we managed to get a few hours rest, or at least I did apparently and now it was pitch black outside and Dom led me out here.

"Yeah, a cushion or two would be nice, but I'll live," I laughed.

"Ya know I could just-"

"No." I protested. "I know what you're gonna say and the answer is no. My ass cannot handle any more tonight."

"Okay, tomorrow then," he beamed.

I shook my head, deciding to deal with it when the time came to it and moving on to a different subject.

"How's your sister?" I ask as Dom lays out some already prepared food onto each of our plates.

"No clue," he shrugged biting into a sandwich. "I'd like to say I don't care either but I do care, I just don't want to talk or think or do anything to do with her anymore. Not after what she did to you."

"Yeah, I thought we had a bond going," I said sadly, biting into my own food.

"Anyway, I saw your dad when I went to find you," Dom spoke. "I know he's a bit of a touchy subject but it was quite satisfying seeing him all bloody and broken on the floor. I don't know what happened to him but he got a hell of a beating."

"Yeah, that was me."

He paused. "What?"

"Long story short he came to beat me up essentially as one of Jasper's 'big surprises' or whatever but it ended up being me who gave him a beating."

Dom whistled. "You must've been really mad, you fucked him up big time."

"I won't lie, it felt good to get it all out."

"So, where is my dad now then?"

"Oh, I don't know," he shrugged. "He's not here that's for sure I ordered anyone who saw him kick him out immediately."

"I would've figured you killed him the next Tim you saw him," I frowned.

"Oh, it was definitely getting close to it," he chuckled.

We continued eating our food like that but eventually, it all ran out and we moved on to talking and admiring the scenery until the sun was starting to come up. I yawned.

"Hey, Dom?"

"Mmm?"

"I love you."

A pause. He glanced over at me, shocked.

"I love you too."
