A/N: If there is one thing I ever felt to be my weakness when writing a Naruto fanfic, it's fight scenes. There are so many freaking details in the Naruto series when it comes to their fighting styles that I'm sometimes at a loss for how to write a fight without slaughtering the fighting style that is Naruto. Hope I did a good job with this one, cause this is definitely the chapter I've been the most nervous to write. And definitely the longest!
The day had come.
We were posted a mile out from the Keisan base and had set up a camp hidden within the thickest group of trees. This was a big mission, and it wouldn't be quick by any means. Some of these tests were ready to become an infirmary if this turned into an all out battle.
And Konoha wasn't alone in this battle. We didn't have enough forces to match and take on all of the Keisan without leaving Konoha itself vulnerable. And what if this was a trick? What if they wanted to taunt us to come to them and then they attacked our village while it was defenseless?
Sunagakure and Kirigakure responded to our request for help and met us here. But why would they be willing to take on our problem? To fight the Keisan that had only declared war on Konoha over just me? For the children. Unfortunately, Konoha doesn't have the homes and the resources to suddenly take on and care for 29 children. Fortunately, the Hidden Sand and Hidden Mist Kage's are equally disturbed by what they do to these children and have agreed to help rescue them and give shelter to some.
It was hard to describe the feeling that swelled within me looking at everyone gathered here today. I had never imagined the idea of a day when the Keisan would be no more. No more generations of babies being stolen from their families, their bodies defiled and beaten into becoming a kunoichi by 6.
"This still feels so really weird and really wrong." I murmured to myself as I passed a mirror in the hall. We proceeded with Maya's idea and I looked exactly like Mother. My hair was pulled back into a tight ponytail with the pin holding it and my eyes were now a dark green with a finer almond shape. But being Mother wouldn't do dressed like all the other ninja. Inside the compound, her outfits were always more refined in a way. I was in a deep red kunoichi dress instead of pants and shirt. It had high slits up each thigh, and black spandex shorts to keep all my girly bits hidden in a fight. Lastly, it was topped with a knee length black trench-left unbuttoned-like a robe keeping me warm on a late night stroll through the compound.
I wasn't very concerned about running into Mother herself-not as long as we executed the plan properly. It was the dead of night and she was asleep many stories above us.
The guards were taken out easily and their posts had been replaced with the two ninja I had assigned. With their eyes off the building, Maya was able to climb up to the outside duct without detection and was crawling her way to the children's dorms.
Kakashi, Sakura and Ino followed behind me in the shadows. Sakura and Ino for their medical abilities and Kakashi because he had no intention to let me out of his sight. There were two other groups of ninja waiting in hiding to proceed to the upper floors once we had all the young ones out. A third team waited as a pass off for any injured or apprehended Kunoichi that we unloaded on them to take back to camp while we continued through the floors.
Our reinforcements didn't end there. Naruto, Anko, the Inuzuka's and others were prepared to back us up if our cover was blown and we got hit hard. More ninja hid throughout the forest in the mile between the compound and our camp, prepared for the expanse to turn into a battlefield.
"This way-" I whispered with a nod down the hall. We didn't have time to waste, and made our move now to the infirmary. We determined we would lose precious time if we waited on Maya's head count. It would be quicker to go and confirm while she escorted the rest of the girls out.
