Itatsu and Maya were playing in the living room. And seemingly for the first time since breakfast, Itatsu took a moment from his toys and looked up. Glancing around, he finally noticed something different "Where's daddy?"

I chuckled. Kakashi left hours ago. "He's training with Uncle Naruto and Sakura out at the fields." Maya stopped and looked up too, a thought clearly on her mind. "What is it, Maya?" I wondered as she nibbled on her lip.

"Umm..." She started to fiddle with the toys in her hands, "can we surprise Kakashi again?"

Aw How much she cares for Kakashi made me smile. I crouched down to her "Is there something you would like to do?"

"Well..." Her face scrunched up, "...he really liked it when we made him food, so...can we take him lunch today!"

"Of course, we can! And you know what would make it even more special?" She shook her head, "let's take some for Naruto and Sakura, too."

"We ge- see Unc Na-to too!" Itatsu heard and shouted excitedly.

"Yes," I laughed, "Now come on, my helpers."

"Look!" I pointed at the field down the grassy path, just able to make out the figures training on it. "There's Daddy and Uncle Naruto." Itatsu gasped in excitement and immediately wrenched his hand from mine so he could run to them. Maya giggled at his excitement and followed along, wanting to catch up.

And of course, here I come carrying all the food. I chuckled to myself, taking my time.

"Itatsu!" I could hear Naruto shout in excitement upon finding his little nephew running straight for him.

"Na-to!" He shouted back as he ran into his legs.

"No, it's Naruto"

"Na-to."

"Naruto."

"Do you really expect to win a fight with a toddler who still can't pronounce his words?" I chastised Naruto jokingly.

Naruto's cheeks puffed out and turned pink in embarassment for fighting with Itatsu. "Maybe." He pouted.

Sakura shook her head behind him at his childishness.

"And to what do we owe this surprise?" Kakashi wondered with a smile clear under his mask.

Maya perked up at that and before I could answer she ran over and snatched the basket of goodies from me. "We made you lunch!" She shouted, practically shoving the basket right into him. Ok, so maybe she's a little overly excited We all sweat dropped at her eagerness, but it was cute all the same.

"You did, huh?" Kakashi ruffled her hair, then took her basket. "I can't wait to try it. And I think-" he knelt next to her and pointed to a spot farther on the field. A patch of grass that basked in the sunlight with some shade from a tree. "-that would be the perfect spot to set up our lunch. You think you can help me with that?" Maya nodded excitedly and grabbed Itatsu's hand along the way as she ran to the patch of grass.

Kakashi stayed a step behind them, coming over to me. "Shouldn't you be resting?" He playfully chastised as he wrapped his arm around my waist.
