As I woke up, I sat up in bed just watching the clouds outside the window for a moment.

"Everything alright?" A tired Kakashi asked as he laid next to me. He reached out a hand and rubbed my lower back.

I glanced at him over my shoulder with a smile closed eye grin. "I'm alright. Just thinking." I answered and fell back onto the bed with a plop.

Kakashi turned onto his side facing me, propping his head up on an elbow. "And what would you be thinking about this early?" He wondered as he brushed away the hair that had fallen on my face. Hair gone, his hand traveled down resting on my abdomen.

"Well.." I drawled out, thinking of a good way to phrase it. It certainly wasn't a bad thought, but it could come out that way.

"Well.." Kakashi repeated, his brow now raising in curiosity of my behavior.

"I guess...it didn't occur to me until just now that you're here every night. Not that I mind you being here-" I quickly rushed in so he didn't get any bad ideas, "-but ever since that day in the market when you found out about Itatsu, if you're not on a mission then you're here. Have you been to your apartment since?"

"I mean, I have to change clothes sometimes." He answered with a shrug.

"But...why?" I asked, honestly just wondering.

Kakashi frowned at the question. "Ama, there is a man out there who has hurt you-" he took my hand, his thumb running over the scars on my palm, "-that makes you run from village to village in fear of you and your son's safety. I can't go back to that apartment not knowing if you're safe at night." I opened my mouth, but he continued before I could say it, "-and there's nothing you can say that will stop me from being here with you every night." He finished.

I rolled onto my side, curling into him. His hand that was on my abdomen wrapped around my waist, pulling me tighter against. "Thank you Kakashi-" I mumbled against his chest. He dropped his elbow and laid down with me, his chin resting atop my head, "-but..." Kakashi's shoulders tensed, his sigh turning into a hmmm of dislike in his throat. I just had to 'but' into the moment. "-I don't want you to use lose your apartment because of me." I told him.

Kakashi pulled back to look at me, "why would you say that?"

"Because..." I looked away, knowung already knowing Kakashi's wasn't going to be very happy, but I didn't want him getting hurt because he let himself get carried away with me, "...you know my chances of being here much longer are slim. I just don't want to be the reason you don't have a home when that happens."

"STOP IT." Kakashi demanded sternly. The intensity in his tone had me looking back at him in shock.

"Kakashi-"

"Stop saying that. Every two weeks you remind me you're not long for here, wanting me to believe that this can't last-"

"You know how many villages I've had to leave. Why should I be so lucky that this one is any different?"

"Because you have me! You're not alone in this, and if you don't already know that then it's your fault because I've done everything to make that clear." Kakashi cupped my cheek, making certain I didn't look away from him, "and if you did leave next week, you still wouldn't be alone. I told you I would be there with you if that's what it takes."

"You said that because you thought I was pregnant-"

"I said that because I love you. Do you still not see that?"

"Kakashi-"

"Wake up!" Itatsu shouted as he ran into the room, instantly climbing the bed. "We go in- be late!" He added, excitedly jumping on the bed.
