A/N: My chapter updates might start taking a little longer than 2 weeks to come out, and I'm sorry about that. I've just got some stuff going on at home that's making it harder to get the time I need to write and post these. As sson as things turn around, I'll be doing my hardest to get them out quicker.
'Alright. You gotta let her know that you'll be there for her.' I mentally pep talked myself as I got ready for the day. 'I can do this, right?' I glanced at myself in the bathroom mirror one last time and nodded. 'I can do this.'
I stepped into the kitchen where everyone had gathered for breakfast. Kakashi was making the kids breakfast since I was still taking it easy from surgery...or at least that's what I was supposed to be doing.
Kakashi glanced up from the stove when he heard me enter. His brow raised in confusion when he noticed I was dressed to leave the house today. "And where do you think you're going today?" He asked, his tone suggesting he was going to convince me otherwise.
Itatsu swiveled around in his chair, trying to figure out which one of them he was talking to. When he saw Kakashi looking at me, he chimed in as well, "yeah, where -ou goin'?"
I stopped by Kakashi's side and tried to snatch a piece of sausage before he could stop me. Tried and did. I pulled back my hand triumphantly as his spatula missed swatting my hand.
"Today is the best day of being a bride." I singsonged.
"Wait...I thought our wedding day was the best day?" Kakashi cut in, brow raising even further.
"Okay, so today is the second best day of being a bride." I corrected and gave Kakashi a peck on the cheek. When I pulled back he was giving me a 'uh huh' look with his arms crossed. I gave him on the lips to 'calm him down' and he uncrossed his arms to hold my waist.
"Better." I mumbled when I pulled away and his expression had softened. He heard me and rolled his eyes at that, but still chuckled at me all the same.
"So tell me, exactly what is so important that is happening today?"
"Well-" I glanced over to the kids at the table to see if they were paying attention. We lost Itatsu when we kissed and Maya was drawing while she waited to eat. "-today I'm going dress shopping." I told him with a smile.
Kakashi wrapped his arms tighter around my waist and pulled me in closer to him. "Dress shopping, huh?" He brushed back my hair and cupped my neck. "It's getting more real everyday." He nuzzled his face against mine, getting all sweet. "Before you know it, it'll be here; and you'll be all mine."
I giggled lightly at his sweetness, "but I'm already all yours."
"But then you'll be Mrs. Hatake."
"Breakfast!" Itatsu shouted, making us both jump. He quickly darted his face forward as we looked at him in shock. His cheeks were lit up red with a sour expression on his face.
I exchanged a glance with Kakashi. I think that was his version of 'ew! Stop kissing'. Maya looked just as startled next to him by his outburst. Kakashi and I just chuckled at their reactions.
"What I'm unsure of is which you are looking more forward to-" I picked up the plate of 'Breakfast!' that Kakashi made up for Itatsu, "-me becoming your wife, or you getting rid of the Uzumaki at the end of my name." I teased. Naruto already visited once a day since we discovered that gem.
"Can't it just be a bonus?" Kakashi joked back as he handed me Maya's plate.
"And which one's a bonus?" I didn't let up on the tease and he scowled at me.
