Gideon
England
The second Gideon walked into his room, he knew Ada was there. He couldn't see her but her scent of steel was all over the place.
Gideon had half a mind to leave, but that would be cowardly, besides he missed her terribly, so he willed himself to move, and walked to the balcony, leaning against the door frame.
Ada was sitting in a chair, drinking. She had on a long, black winter jacket, the front was open, and Gideon could see she was wearing a pair of black, lace bra, and panties.
Only God knew what trouble she had stirred up tonight. He was glad she was alive.
Ada knew he was there, but didn't aknowledge him. Gideon wasn't sure what to say. He didn't think he would see her again, not after that witch had told her the truth about what he had done to her Father.
"Is Angelina dead?" Gideon spoke up, fed up with the silance.
"Do I look like I'm celebrating?" Ada said in a low voice, taking a gaulp of her drink.
"What happened?"
"I'm not here for chitchat. You owe me an explanation. Start talking."
"Are you going to kill me after?"
"Depends on what comes out of your pretty mouth."
"Fair enough." Gideon sat down in a chair beside her, and leaned forward, lacing his fingers together. "how much do you know?"
"Nothing. I don't know anything." Ada sighed.
"I did kill your Father, but not because I wanted to, or that I enjoyed it. I did it to protect Adrian and because it was the only way to save your Father."
"What were you saving him from?" Ada sounded curious.
"The spell that was put on him."
"By the Twins?"
"One of their people, yes."
"Why would they do that? What did my Father have to do with any of this?"
"He was a hunter."
"Of course he was." Ada took another gaulp.
"You're not surprised?"
"I'm too tired to be surprised."
Gideon wanted to take her hand but he knew she wouldn't let him. "I would have spared him if I could."
"Why couldn't you?"
"The spell put on him was dark magic. He didn't know but Steven was made to look for us, Adrian, and his people, and kill us. He wouldn't stop. He couldn't.
The only way to put an stop to him was to kill him. It wasn't just him either. There were thirtheen of them, and they were all under the spell, forced to complete their mission."
"You could have talked to them, explained..."
"We did. They wouldn't listen. The spell had clouded their judgment."
"How did he even find you? I thought outsiders couldn't find this castle."
"We weren't here. The Twins' people had massacared a pack of werewolves. People we were supposed to protect, but we got there too late. There was nothing we could do but give them a proper burial. When your father, and his hunter friends got there, they tried to kill us. They found us among the bodies, thought we'd done it..."
"Why wouldn't the Twins do it themselves? why send my father, and the hunters?"
"Only a human can kill an Ancient."
