Gideon
"We need to talk." Genevieve sat down beside him.
Gideon cleared his throat. "I...uh need to..."
"Sit down, now."
"Ok geez. Chill." Gideon obeyed, and looked at Hans, and Artyom for help which they ignored.
"I am perfectly chill." Her smile was full of ice.
"See you later." Hans winked at him and left.
"Don't forget what we talked about." Artyom added.
"Bloody hell." Gideon cursed under his breath.
"Artyom." Genevieve called out, half turned on the bar stool.
"Yes?"
"You even think about breaking my brother's heart, and I'll rip your spine out, and shove it down your throat. Not because Jamie can't do it himself, but my little brother has a heart of gold whereas mine is made of ice. Are we clear?"
Artyom nodded. "Your other brother already gave me the talk."
"I'm not Jack. So are we clear?"
"Cryatal clear."
"Great." Genevieve grinned. "You can leave now." She dismissed him with a wave of her fingers.
"It was nice to meet you." Artyom told her with a tight smile and left.
"Likewise."
"Artyom is a good man. He would give his life for James. You have nothing to worry about." Gideon reassured Genevieve.
"I still had to give him the talk."
"Has Nora heard it yet?"
"Nope."
"Good. You should water it down a lot unless you want to get punched into next week."
"I'll keep that in mind."
There was silence for a few minutes until Gideon found his courage. "So you're back."
"I'm back." She took the vodka bottle from his hand, and took a sip.
"Why?"
"Why not?"
"I didn't think you ever would come back." Gideon admitted.
"It's not like you've been moping after me. You moved on."
"You were the one who left Gen, don't you dare blame me for moving on. You don't have the right to do that."
"You think I left the only place that ever felt like home on purpose? That I left you on purpose? I had to. That was my only choice." She sounded sad.
"What do you mean?"
"I had lost control of my power. I was terrified of it, of myself..."
Gideon felt guilty for judging her so harshly. "That's why you were so...difficult, and distant the past couple of years?"
"Yes."
"You still should have told me instead of running away. I deserved more after everything. I had no idea where you were. If you were alive at all..."
"I told Adrian, and Marcia, but they couldn't help, so I had to leave..."
"That makes it even worse."
"Gideon..."
"Did I mean nothing to you? I know we weren't perfect, and had our problems, but..."
