Ada
Ada didn't know where the music room was.
She wondered through the castle, and looked at the beautiful Christmas trees, and decorations. It took her about half an hour, the castle was huge, and packed with people. She located it on the tenth floor.
She heard music flowing through the air. It wasn't the party music, but something else, something deeper, incredibly sad, and beautiful. Ada felt her heart ache as the music poured over her, as it found it's way inside her, and touched her very soul. It was a live entity.
It understood Ada. Her pain, her guilt, her shame, the sense of not belonging anywhere even now that things had sort of gone back to normal. Everything except her.
She was still a mess after Maggie, and everything else that had happened after that. Ada might not let it show, but it didn't mean she was better. Ada didn't think she ever could be. She didn't think she deserved that.
Ada willed her feet to start walking, and opened the glass doors to the music room. It was big, and dark, filled with chairs, tables, and various instrument. There was a black, grand piano in the middle of the room.
Gideon was behind it, body moving slowly to the sad rhythm of the music, long, talented fingers giving life to the dead black, and white keys. Moonlight danced on his dark skin.
It was such a breathtaking sight. Both him, and the heavenly music. Ada couldn't look away. She stood by the door, and listened, hand going to her throat.
He didn't aknowledge Ada, too deep into his music. She wanted him to keep playing untill the end of time. Every time his fingers hit a key it soothed her aching soul.
"Did you like it?" Gideon asked, his deep voice breaking the silence. He had stopped playing, fingers still on the keys.
"I fell in love with it." Ada said in a low voice, still drunk from his beautiful music.
"Wonderful." A faint smile touched his lips.
"What is it called?"
"Cold by Jorge Mendez." Gideon stood up, and turned on the lights.
Ada blinked against the sudden brightness, and saw he was wearing a fitting black tux. A couple of bottns of his grey dress shirt were open, black tie loose which made him look even more attractive.
"You should dress up more often." Ada told him with an admiring smile.
Gideon smirked and gave her a once over, sharp brown eyes taking her in. "You too."
"What are you doing here?"
"What are you doing here?" Gideon shot back, leaning against the grand piano, fingers tapping against the wood.
"Don't answer my question with another question." Ada glared at him playfuly.
"Or what? You'll throw me out of my own house?"
"Don't tempt me."
"I was waiting for the mumer's farce to end, if you must know." He said with a theatrical sigh.
"I'm not big on parties either but I gotta admit this one's not that bad. Specially with Marcia's sambusas."
"I love her cooking too, but I still beg to differ."
