*The Next Day*
Joe: She still hasn't phoned y'know.
Hayden: Oh give it a break, will you?
It is 1pm, and all Joe has been going on about is Sky. Not that I can blame him. It's irritating Hayden though.
We're sat in the living room watching some comedy show. I don't even know what it is, Hayden put it on randomly.
Joe: Oh I'm sorry Hayden, but you're not the one with the angry, unpredictable girlfriend.
Hayden: How would you know? Alisha can get very angry if she wants to.
That's true.
Joe: Yeah, well I bet she hasn't gone as far as Sky can go.
Hayden: No she hasn't because she's not a psychopath like Sky.
Jason sniggers and Joe throws him the death glare.
Joe: It's not funny.
Jason: Oh but is is though, because it's so true. (snorts)
Hayden: Alright it wasn't that funny, no need to snort like a pig Jase.
Jason: Fuck you.
Hayden: I'm flattered but that would be incest.
Me: Why don't you try calling her now?
Joe: But that's what I tried doing last night and you told me to wait for her to call me.
Me: Well, I think it's safe to say she probably is waiting for you to phone her. Plus it's been a good amount of time so I don't see the harm in trying to phone her now.
Joe: Okay then.
Joe dials her number on his phone.
Jason: Joe and his sexy Nokia.
Joe: It's a Sony, not a Nokia.
Jason: Lies.
Me: Does it matter?
Jason: Yes.
The number Joe dialled starts ringing.
Joe: The waiting game begins.
Jason: Bloody hell Joe, is that on loud speaker?
Joe: I don't know.
Hayden: It is. Turn it off, I'm trying to watch this.
Joe: Alright, alright.
Just as Joe is about to press the loud speaker button, the door knocks. Followed by the voicemail message blaring out of the phone's speakers.
Hayden: Joe!
Joe: I'm turning loud speaker off! Keep your hair on!
Joe hangs up the phone and sighs.
Joe: Another voice mail ain't gonna do shit.
Jason: So who invited who over?
We all look at each other.
Me: Weren't me.
Jason: Or me.
Hayden: Before you ask, no I haven't invited Alisha over. She has a life with her friends too, y'know.
We all look at Joe.
Joe: No, I didn't invite Jeremy over --
He pauses.
