Jason: I can't believe you two did that!

Me: It was super funny. I don't think Noah would of said it if Tanya had been there.

Jason: I would of. I ain't scared of her. Noah shouldn't be either.

Me: Do remember who she's related to.

Jason: So?

Mum: What's the gossip?

Jason: Mum, no one says that anymore. It's "what's the tea?"

Mum rolls her eyes but grins.

Mum: What's the tea then?

I giggle.

Me: Noah and I ran away from Alfie and Tilly.

Mum: (chuckles) Why?

Me: Well, Noah insulted her eyebrows. Called them chunky slugs.

Mum bursts out laughing.

Mum: I do love that lad. You should have invited him for dinner.

Me: I did, but he's not allowed today. His mum is taking him out to a restaurant or something.

Jason: If he gets a Maccies and I don't, I'll be pissed.

Mum swats Jase with the tea towel.

Mum: Language!

Jason: (rolls eyes) I turn 17 this year.

Mum: No excuse.

Me: Ha.

Jason: Shut up. Anyway, how's Logan?

Mum: Logan?

Me: Oh for shit sake.

Mum: Language Em!

Jason: Ha. Take the L!

I playfully punch his arm. Mum sits at the table with us.

Mum: You got a new boyfriend I should know about?

Me: Nope. Logan is a mate.

Mum: Fair enough. How bout you Jase? Any girls catching your eye lately?

Jason: Nah not really. There's no one that decent at school.

Mum: Well, you've both still got plenty of time to find someone for prom.

Me&Jason: Mum!

Mum: (shrugs and chuckles) I'm just saying.

Me: Where's Hayden?

Mum: Out with his mates. Or as he likes to put it 'out with the lads'.

The front door opens - must be Joe.

Jason: What's for tea?

Mum: I was thinking of doing fish and chips. How's that sound?

Me: Sounds perfect.

Joe walks into the kitchen - but he's not alone. A tall, slim girl with dark blue hair is with him. For a split second I think it's Billie - but whoever this is she's slightly shorter than Billie.

Joe: Hi, mum, is it okay if Sky stays round here for a while? She's having a bit of... Issues with parents at the moment.

I realise that Sky looks a bit down.

Mum: Yeah, of course. Hi Sky, you can join us for tea if you want?

Sky: I don't want to cause a fuss.
