*Finn's pov*

Gaten: Who is controlling the damn music?

Finn: No idea. Nobody is complaining.

Gaten: Well yeah, everyone listens to songs that come from Tik Tok nowadays.

Finn: Every song gets put on that app, y'know.

Gaten: Yup. They just snatch any song. (shakes head)

I grin.

Gaten: Anyway, what's the deal with you and Em?

Finn: How do you know something's up?

Gaten: Caleb MIGHT have let it slip.

Finn: Wow. The one person I confined in goes and blabs.

Gaten: Hey, it was all for the right intentions. He's slightly worried, y'know.

Finn: What? Why?

Gaten: He says you've been acting off and he knows it's cause of Em. He suspects there's more to it than what you've told him.

I don't answer.

Gaten: So you gonna tell me what's going on? Are you jealous of her and Jaeden?

Finn: What? No! And anyway, they might not even be together.

I hope.

Gaten: Dude, they were kissing.

I was trying hard to forget that. Thanks Gaten!

Gaten: You can tell me y'know. I'm not gonna judge you or anything, we're mates, and like they say: a problem shared is a problem halved.

Finn: (sighs) I think she might be mad at me. And now I've got a better feeling why.

Gaten: Go on.

Finn: The other day Tilly came up to me and was demanding how I know Tanya but because we were in public, we had to look like we were having a pleasant chat, so it wouldn't attract the wrong attention. Em must have seen us and gotten the wrong end of the stick. She did ask me tonight why I haven't turned up with Tilly.

Gaten: Uh oh, looks like you really are in the shit with her.

Finn: I pretty much figured that out already.

Gaten: Why don't you just talk to her? Caleb said that you told him Em is avoiding you, why don't you just set things straight with her? Don't wait for Em to bring it up - you do it and you explain. You get what I'm laying on the table?

Finn: Yeah you've got a valid point Gaten. I'll do that, in fact, I'll go find her right now.

Gaten: Ah, umm, she's not here.

Finn: What do you mean 'She's not here '? Of course she is, you've seen her yourself.

Gaten: Finn, what I mean is that she left the party.

Finn: What? When? Is she okay?

Gaten: About half n hour ago. You were in the bathroom, and she passed me, along with Jaeden. She's fine, very drunk, but fine.

Finn: She left with Jaeden?

Gaten: That's what I said.

Finn: But why? Have they gone to their own homes separately or--

Gaten: Okay seriously, what is the deal with your obsession on them two? Do you have feelings for her?

Finn: (stares at feet) I'm surprised Caleb ain't told you.
