Me: What do you mean he hasn't been arrested?

Hayden: (shrugs) They just haven't arrested him.

Me: That doesn't make any sense. Where is he now?

Hayden: He's gone home. And he refused to speak to me all the way back.

James: I mean, that's understandable. You did take him down to his possible downfall.

Hayden: Yeah, true, which would of been in his best interest. Make him realise why he can't just lie to police officers whenever he feels like it. It's not ok.

Finn: To be fair, if he actually knew about Sky's plans, he would more than likely be put in jail.

Me: That makes no sense though. He still lied to the police.

Nicholas: Afternoon all.

I turn around and see Nick standing there in his uniform.

Noah: We haven't done anything Ni - I mean officer.

Nicholas: Oh I know, don't worry I'm not here for you guys to get into trouble. I'm on one of my breaks. (holds up Starbucks coffee cup)

James: Got us scared for a moment there. (grins)

Nicholas: (laughs) Well, you're all on your best behaviour right?

Hayden: (grins and takes out a cigarette) Of course. Want one?

Nicholas: Don't mind if I do. (grins back and takes one)

Me: Nick, can I ask you something?

Nicholas: Yeah go ahead. (lights up his cigarette)

Me: So like, Joe lied to the police about the argument he had with Sky, where she said she was gonna run away. He literally kept that from them! And they haven't arrested him or anything.

Nicholas: Ok so, say he knew where she was planning on going and helped her run away, and say he lied but the truth came out about it. He would get arrested in that scenario as he would of played a huge part in her runaway scheme, knew where she was and knew if she was ok or not. However, because he only heard her make a threat, and therefore has no idea what her plans are, he hasn't contributed to any of it. Meaning, they can't arrest him. Also, we don't know for sure if she actually has runaway, although it's very possible.

Me: So because he has no actual knowledge of where she's gone, they have no reason to arrest him?

Nicholas: Yeah basically.

Me: That kinda makes more sense to be fair.

Jason: Question is, how do we know that Joe doesn't actually know about her whereabouts?

Hayden: I don't know Jase, but I'd like to think that he doesn't.

Millie: He doesn't.

Everyone turns to look at Mills.

Shit.

Millie: You saw how upset he is over her. How he's treating himself cause he's worried sick.

Jason: You make a good point Mills. I agree.

Noah: You sure switched up like (clicks fingers) that.

Jason: Well, cause, Mills makes a very valid point.

Noah: Of course.

Finn starts smirking.
