As predicted, the fish and chips are amazing. We are all just sat around the table, talking about general things. I notice how Joe keeps glancing at Sky.
Yup, I think they are more than friends, but if not, they probs will be soon.
Jason also keeps throwing glances at me then Finn. Luckily, Finn doesn't notice, but I really wish he'd stop.
Just as mum is clearing our plates away and sorting dessert out, someone's phone rings. Turns out it's Sky's.
Sky: Sorry, I need to take this.
Mum: No, go ahead.
She smiles apologetically, then walks out the room with her phone pressed to her ear.
Jason: So, Joe, when are you gonna tell us that she's your girlfriend?
Hayden: Good question Jase. (Looks at Joe)
Joe: We're just really close friends.
Jason: Yeah? But you were both cuddling each other. Weren't they, Em?
I stay quiet. I don't really want to say the wrong thing, cause one of my brothers WILL bring up the fact I was asleep cuddled up to Finn.
It sucks to be the only female sibling sometimes.
Mum: C'mon boys, leave him be. I'm sure Joe would of told us they were dating.
Joe: That is true. You guys would be the first to know.
Jason: Still doesn't explain the cuddling.
Before Joe can answer back, Sky comes back in the room. She looks a bit upset.
Joe: Everything okay?
Sky: That was my dad. He wants me home right now.
Joe: Oh. Is he mad?
Sky: I think so. (Bites nails nervously)
Me: But why?
Sky: Storming out the house, then being gone for hours without saying anything. They have a right to be mad.
Mum: How you getting home, Sky?
Sky: I'm walking.
Mum: Do you want a lift? I just think it's a bit dangerous to walk back in the dark.
Mum is right about that. I shiver at the thought of what almost happened to me. Finn notices, and gives my shoulder a reassuring squeeze.
Sky: If that's okay with you?
Mum: Of course. Do you want to stay for dessert or go now?
Sky: I don't want to ruin your dinner, so I'll wait until after dessert. (Sits back down)
Joe puts his arm around her - Jase and Hayden share a look, but don't say anything.
Mum serves out dessert - homemade Victoria Sponge cake with vanilla icing and strawberries on the top. Honestly, mum would give Jamie Oliver and Gordon Ramsay a run for their money - she's a brilliant cook.
Finn: This cake is delicious.
Everyone nods their head in agreement.
Mum: Thank you. (beams)
Hayden: And this is how I'm a great cook myself, taught by the best.
Mum: Oh stop it, you're making me blush.
